Driftwood Retreat and Ranch is a unique rustic 16 acre ranch with three separate houses, The Main Ranch "Big House", Rock House, Log Cabin, a Game Room/Bunk house, a swimming pool and hot tub, enormous fire pit, and covered BBQ Pavilion. The houses and pool are nestled within 25 yards of each other and are located within the 4 acre landscaped compound. The rest of the ranch is undeveloped Hill Country heaven filled with native species of plants and animals such as Live Oak, fox, deer and armadillos. The largest home being the 2,500 square foot "Big House", is a traditional two story home with a huge covered back deck with ample shade and a propane grill (propane provided). Inside the home is a spacious living area with wood burning fireplace, large sectional sofa, and flat screen TV. Off the living area is a fully equipped kitchen with a large island and a dining area with seating for six. There is also four barstools around the island and a breakfast table that seats six. Also downstairs is the primary bedroom with a king size bed, a bonus room with a day bed plus ensuite bathroom with a soaking tub and walk-in shower. If any of your guests have mobility issues, this primary bedroom w ensuite bath would be best for them. Upstairs is a sleeping loft with two twin beds which can be connected to create a king and a second bedroom with a queen size bed. There's a full bathroom upstairs between the loft and the bedroom. Just steps away from the Big House is a Game Room with a set of bunk beds as well as a queen bed, a pool table which converts into ping pong and various board games. There is \*Starlink\* satellite wifi! "The Rock House" is an adorable 800 square foot two bedroom, one bath, full kitchen, cottage. It has true country charm. There is a big open room that includes the living area with adorable pot-belly stove for keeping warm, dining area next to the full kitchen. The primary bedroom has a queen size bed while the second bedroom has two sets of twin beds. Just down the hall is a full bathroom. The shaded front porch is a perfect spot to sip your morning coffee before getting the day started. Just across the gated swimming pool and covered BBQ pavilion lies "The Log Cabin". This precious 450 square foot rustic cabin is every one's favorite. The cabin has a queen size bed, a fireplace, full bathroom with claw foot tub and walk in shower. "Pool, BBQ Pavilion, Firepit" Nestled in the center of the three houses is the heart and soul of the ranch. The custom pool with limestone rockwork and waterfall is a perfect compliment to the hillcountry landscape and the 200 year old Live Oak which serves as its backdrop. A truly unique gem and perfect gathering place for multi-generational families to enjoy the adjacent covered BBQ Pavilion with a HUGE double-sided smoker pit plus a gas grill (propane included). There is an electric hot tub for your enjoyment tucked away under the enormous Live Oak right next to the pool. You must contact us to add more than one dog to the reservation, if allowed. $25 per dog, per night. If pets are allowed, the charge for the first dog will be included in the total cost listed. There is a video doorbell on the Big House front door. Beds Summary Big House sleeps 6: Master Bedroom on main level has one (1) King Bed plus a bonus room with one (1) day bed Upstairs Bedroom has one (1) Queen Bed Upstairs Sleeping Loft has two (2) Twin Beds Game Room is one large room sleeps 4: (1) Queen Bed (2) One set of twin Bunk Beds Rock House which sleeps 6: Primary Bedroom has (1) Queen Second Bedroom has two sets bunk beds (4) twins Log Cabin sleeps 2: (1) Queen Bed After reservation is confirmed, we will confirm reservation details within 48 hours. A signed and initialed rental agreement (see attached) will be required within 14 days of reservation confirmation. If booking within 14 days of reservation confirmation then signed agreement needs to be provided within 48 hours. Property access such as gate and house codes will not be provided without a signed agreement. The ranch is ideal for making memories with family and friends. Large events or parties with unregistered guests are not allowed. Only the guests listed on the signed rental agreement are allowed on property. The venue was perfect for us. Secluded and private and well appointed as a rustic 16 acre ranch and yet close enough to civilization to not cause any worries should an emergency occur. This property was an absolute gem—beautifully maintained and thoughtfully stocked with everything imaginable to make our stay effortless and enjoyable. From a fully equipped kitchen with every appliance and gadget you could ask for, to plush towels, cozy bedding, and entertainment options for all ages, no detail was overlooked.The highlight for many of us was the stunning outdoor space. We spent hours soaking in the sparkling pool, relaxing in the spa, and unwinding in the hot tub under the stars. Evenings around the fire pit were a hit with the kids, especially when it came time to roast marshmallows and share stories. They enjoyed the scavenger hunt the most!Tucked away in the peaceful countryside, the property offered a true escape from the hustle and bustle. And while being surrounded by nature does bring the occasional countryside crawler, it’s all part of the charm of an authentic country getaway.Truly, it felt like a home away from home—only better. The property has an "out in the country" feel even though it is only a half-hour or so outside of Austin. The separate buildings offered privacy for family units of varying sizes. The owner (Kristin) lives a short distance away in Austin and is readily accessible via text or email. She was one of the most responsive hosts we have ever experienced. The weather was cold so we didn't use the pool or spa, but they look wonderful and we are tempted to come back sometime when it is warmer. We did make good use of the outdoor firepit where our grandkids loved roasting marshmallows for s'mores. One surprise was the town of Kyle itself. Downtown area is a short drive from the ranch and is quaint and beautiful, very walkable, with a park and playground for kids and several brewpubs and other amenities for adults. Kyle is a rapidly growing bedroom community for Austin so every food and beverage amenity you could possibly want is only a short drive from the ranch. All in all, we had a wonderful stay. ##### Houghton H. Two of them have small children of their own, and so I look for properties where we can spread out and have our own spaces. It is very hard for me to find all that within a few hours of our homes. This property checked off all the boxes for us!! We had a great time as a family and since the local rivers were low, we enjoyed hanging out by the pool as an alternative. We loved the pavilion area and pool and hot tub. Kristin is one of the most attentive hosts I have met. She is very detailed oriented. Her kitchen was large and extremely well stocked. It had everything we needed, so it was easy to make all our meals at the house. I often travel with my own scrubbers/scrapers for doing dishes and once again, she wins the prize for best stocked sink for doing dishes! She had all the scrubbers needed to make clean up a breeze. Our family is very excited to finally find a property that meets our needs so well. We plan on coming back again next summer. ##### Kimberly H. Our stay at Driftwood Ranch exceeded our expectations and was a wonderful time for our group of 18 (13 adults and 5 children 4 and under). The photos do not do this property justice. The setting is a gorgeous and peaceful Hill Country back drop where you and your group will be in a fully private setting to relax and spend time with loved ones. The main house had one of the best appointed kitchens we’ve stayed in to date, with double ovens, two fridges and everything you need to cook for a large group. We had plenty of bathrooms and beds for everyone in our group to have their own space. Kristin was incredibly communicative and graciously provided an area guide and also enough mattresses/cots for our children to sleep comfortably in addition to adults. All of the houses stayed cool and comfortable in the August Texas heat. The pool was fully fenced in, a great comfort to parents of young kids! We all had lots of fun at the pool and adjacent pavilion, and loved sitting in the chairs around the fire pit in the evenings. We cooked on both (yes, two!) grills and both were clean and worked well, and we had all the gear needed at the house to use them! The kids loved exploring the beautiful natural setting and were running around exploring flowers and rocks together all weekend. We would absolutely stay at this property again. This property was perfect for our family getaway! We had 11 adults and two infants with our crew for a family celebration. The house had everything we could need while on the property- from every cooking gadget to towels. Despite having so many people we never felt crowded or lacking space. There were more than enough chairs, beds, and parking spaces. If we ever needed something Kristin was ways quick to respond! The pool area was beautiful and perfect for adults and kids. There was a great tanning area in the pool that our 2 year old could play in while others swam in the deeper end. The night lights allowed us to make the most of this area during our trip. The various houses on the property were perfect for our large group. It felt like we had a neighborhood of just family. People could come together and have alone time as needed. All the little houses had everything one could need- including great AC! We enjoyed the rural feel while being close enough to make a drive to the grocery store and restaurants on I-35 for food as needed. While it gives an isolated feel, you will never feel bored! We kept finding new little areas on the property throughout our stay. The check-in and check-out procedures were very simple and easy. Our guest with a broken leg was able to enjoy the stay at the main house and joined us by the pool.
