"Excellent staff. Spacious room. Perfect for a solo traveler. Well located. And very grateful for the complimentary treat sent by the hotel desk to my room. "
"Hotel was fine. Very conveniemt just across from main Essen station. Bit dated and the area surrounding it isn't great but staff very friendly and helpful. Main shopping area is just a few yards away "
"It was an amazing stay at Ghotel in Essen. Nothing to complain about, fresh clean and with great parkingoptions as well. I will definetely come back!"
"The hotel seems to have had a recent make over and a re-brand. The room was immaculately clean and the bathroom looked new and was also very good. My only criticism is the lack of amenities; if you want a kettle or iron you need to go to a store cupboard on the ground floor to get it yourself and there is no fridge in the room. Apart from that my partner and I enjoyed the quiet and were very pleased with the room quality"

TOP EMBRACE Hotel Franz Essen
10/10 Excellent
"The hotel is clean and all the things you'd expect. The reception staff were brilliant - really, several cuts above what you'd expect in the average hotel. We had several good and helpful conversations in both English and German "
"The rooms in The Mercure Hotel are large and comfortable with a good bathroom, everything is very clean.
If you stay at the Mercure Hotel, you Can easily walk to the town centre and the Main station, if you walk along the Huyssen Aller (runs parallel to Bismarckstraße). If you don’t want to walk very far for a metal, just cross the Folkswang Bridge (pedestrian) and turn right. There you Will find small local restaurants.
Ofcourse you are very near to the Folkswang Museum, and that is a must!! Entrance is free of charge, you only pay for the special exhibition.
Go to the UNESCO World Heritage, Zollverein, which is a former coal mine and factory. Just jump a tram at the main station. "
"The hotel staff were friendly and professional. Our room was clean and very quiet despite being right next to the elevator. Overall we had a great stay. "
