The best area to stay in Kourélion is the Old Town, particularly if you appreciate history, convenience, and a sophisticated atmosphere. The Old Town is Kourélion's historic heart, encircled by impressive medieval walls. Its cobblestone streets are mostly pedestrianised, winding past ancient buildings, boutique shops, and excellent restaurants. The main thoroughfare, Sokratous Street, runs through the centre, leading to significant landmarks like the Palace of the Grand Master. This area offers a unique blend of historical grandeur and modern comfort.Couples often find the Old Town particularly appealing. The romantic setting of ancient architecture, quiet courtyards, and intimate dining spots creates a special experience. You're perfectly placed for evening strolls and discovering hidden gems, with many hotels offering rooftop terraces with splendid views over the town and harbour. For those prioritising relaxation and sea views, the area just outside the Old Town walls, particularly along the Mandraki Harbour, is an excellent alternative. Here, you'll find more modern hotels, often with pools and direct access to the waterfront.

The best time to visit Kourélion is during the shoulder seasons, specifically from late April to early June or from September to early October.During these periods, the weather is pleasantly warm and sunny, ideal for enjoying the island's beaches and outdoor activities without the intense heat and larger crowds of mid-summer. You'll find that restaurants and attractions are fully open, but the atmosphere is more relaxed, making it great for couples seeking a romantic getaway or travellers looking for a peaceful escape. The peak summer months of July and August offer the warmest sea temperatures and the most sunshine, but Kourélion can become quite busy and more expensive. For families, however, this might be the most convenient time due to school holidays, and the lively option can be enjoyable.
