It’s 2-3 blocks from the taxi stand / bus stop to Kinabalu Park / Kundasang / Ranau, and a 20min walk to Jesselton port for island hopping. The staff here is very welcoming, helping me get my bearings by giving me a map and pointing out all the points of interest, including bus stops. I had a spacious room with a comfy bed, located at the end of the hall so I had a view of the night market below, which is a good area to stroll around at night, since it's in front of the hotel. Unfortunately, there is no elevator so be prepared to walk up lots of stairs. Wifi worked very well in the rooms, so that was a plus.
