Not enough characters to describe JUST how awful this place is!!! Safety issues top our list: sockets hanging from wall. A sharp nail protruding from ground - right were you enter the pool. Staff shouting at the top of their voice echoing around the poolside. Rusty coat hangers Atrocious breakfast Tired decor What a shame - We are sure this WAS a lovely hotel in it's hay-day.
The property is beautiful and with excellent service in the reception, house keeping and Mourias restaurant/pool bars/reception bar. We were though very disappointing with the service offered in the restaurants found in the Agora area, all extremely/painful slow (one hour or more waiting time), and the food they serve really disappointing . I can only praise the spa and its staff for the impeccable service provided. The same I can say about the Health Center and its trainers ( especially Helena and Pagona, which would be one of the reason to go back to the hotel). As for the prices, you have to be prepared to pay quite a high fare for everything within the resort, which sometimes seems justified because of the quality of the service, but other times not so justified. The place has undoubtedly a special charm and it is worth to try it if you want to visit the Peloponnese on your holidays.
Stayed here with my wife and two daughters (7 and 3) in the Laurel Room (the smaller family suite). As always, despite the photos I didn't know exactly what to expect, but was blown away. The hotel - Great, really committed service, really good design and condition, kids absolutely loved the cats who wonder in and around the property, pool is great. The room - larger than expected, two balcony areas, great kitchen (in which I made full meals for the family - curries, pasta etc.), DVD player was essential for parents (new Twin Peaks made our holiday even more special!). Only slight downside was the children didn't find the double sofa bed completely comfortable, but were happy to have all the bedding on the floor instead (there was enough to create an adequate mattress for the floor). Location - Countering a previous review, this is very accessible (obviously by car) with a large car park. Stoupa nearby is better than online photos would suggest - Kalogria Beach is fantastic. This is a great base for discovering the whole area, which is magnificent and varied (be sure to check out Githio and Port Kagio as well as local spots like Kardamyli). Service - To make it clearer than other reviews, breakfast includes - cereal, pastries, cold meats, breads, yoghurt. It's a relatively large cold buffet, and was very appreciated every morning. The owners kindly took care of our laundry needs during our stay. Hotel owner and his fantastic manager took care of us expertly. Top-notch!
No place is perfect, but this spot is ideal for kicking back and also as a place from which to explore the rugged area of West Mani. Be prepared for slow mountain driving, but it’s well worth the pace and the constant vigilance of mountain driving. What would I change? Little but a few small things: the kitchen needs more implements, especially sharp knives. A firmer mattress would be appreciated. And just four close pins for the laundry rack on the patio? Come now. But these are small matters. By the way, two good supermarkets are nearby. We were forced to cook all of our meals due to the open smoking at local restaurants. Apparently EU regulations do not apply in the area.
A very clean and spacious hotel. A good sized room with a very large comfortable bed and a wonderful view of the bay. The buffet breakfast choice was absolutely enormous and suits all tastes, the best I’ve seen or had for a long time. The restaurant, bar and breakfast room, called the “Loft”, is very spacious and located on the 5th floor which is the roof terrace and has fantastic views. Highly recommended and we will definitely go back again. Jim and Sara
