Triple Tui - Log cabin, self contained, river side
8/10 Good
"Online listing does not explain clearly the ‘off grid’ nature of the property (limited power & hot water) and does not include details about the 300m walk (incl a skinny sway bridge crossing) to get from where you park your car to the property, nor was this communicated to us as part of the special instructions you normally receive days before your arrival. No contact was made until a few hours prior and no information was provided at that time, only on arrival were we told that we needed a 4WD to get to the cottage, so our luggage was transported by the host while we walked. Had we known and been prepared (incl packing differently), we would have enjoyed it, rather than being surprised and frustrated. The cottage itself was lovely and once we settled in, it was enjoyable, just not what we were expecting."
"We had a great stay at Stargazers Cabin. It was very warm on some cold nights and morning very neat and tidy. Bathroom was neat and tidy, good pressure in the shower. Kitchen has everything you need, lounge was comfy and so was the bed. David and Tammy were good communicators, check in and out was super easy. Would 100% recommend and will definitely book again next time we’re up around Nelson Lakes."
"St Arnaud is a lovely location and the property is also conveniently located. The property is comfortable enough but is neither fish nor fowl. It is better than a basic kiwi bach but not really up to the standard of a holiday home. It seems a bit expensive for what it is - I found the dirty windows, cobwebs and threadbare carpet a bit too rustic. The house needs some maintenance. "
Sunny family farm house 1 minute to river and Great Taste cycle trail
10/10 Excellent
"This was by far our favourite rental of all time. It's an entire house on a farm with amazing views of the surrounding mountains and of Motueka valley. The house was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The owners, Sue and Dion, are the kindest people you'll ever meet. They live across the paddock and were there for everything we needed. Sue helped us with ideas of how to spend our 3 full days in the area. They told us where we could hike on their property so we got some cardio in by going up the mountain. Brian was also invited to help muster the lambs along with Dion and the 2 dogs. A memory he will cherish forever. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and hope to be back some day. Highly recommend to everyone. It would be a great place for kids too. "
