"This is a fantastic place to stay. Great pools, great food, and loved having live-music and a farmer's market on site! I'd definitely stay here again. It'll be even better when the construction (Duke's bar, and Spa) are finished!"

"Amazing place, amazing location, great history within those walls and big shout out to the Solid staff ! The Royal Kona building, they need to do real maintenance to this resort and stop patching the problems. Spend some money. This place has the potential to hold its old hawaii feel. Its a Gem of a place. and the The current kitchen staff are making exceptional quality food. Thank you all !"

"This was the longest walk between my room and the parking lot of anywhere I have ever stayed - a mile. And they charge you $48 per night for the convenience of parking there. The tram option was infrequent. Very disappointed they keep dolphins trapped onsite in a very shallow pool. Do not get the breakfast option - it was small and limited in selection."

"Unfortunately the air conditioner was not working. We were offered a portable air conditioner, which is unacceptable. We changed to the only other room that was offered to us which was on the first floor off the parking lot. Room was very noisy and we heard banging and car doors closing all night. We were also across from the laundry room which was also noisy. "

"Lovely property with nice amenities. My wife was stuck in an elevator. No one responded to her pressing the alarms in the elevator, nor did anyone respond to her calls on the elevator phone for at least 10 minutes. She called me on her cell phone and I walked to the front desk to report the issue. Only then was there a response. The maintenance person who responded was not very polite - his comment to my wife was that she should "calm down." We were surprised that no one from management followed up with us. A plate of fruit was delivered to our room - as we were checking out."

"Room was clean and we had a suite which was very nice. the main restaurant canoe house was great as well as the Mediterranean one. The pool restaurant /shack has chicken fingers which weee too hard. I’d skip the luau. We paid $700 for 3 of us and it was at th parking garage at the back of the property not he beach as I thought initially whe the friend we were traveling with suggested it. Note to self to research myself. The beach was overcrowded due to it being spring break and we couldn’t get chairs if we went in the afternoon because people would leave their things in the chairs. The staff said there was a wait list and at one point we had to wait uber half an hour to get chairs even though some looked unoccupied. Kids club was great and educational activities. Because my daughter is younger than 5 I stayed with her. Overall a good experience but they should try to make sure paying guests aren’t waiting for beach and pool chairs during peak season. "
