The best thing about the Floatel is location - it is not in a building but in a boat floating on the river. As such, it is largely unaffected by the exhaust fumes, dust, and noise that Kolkata generates in abundance.
Hotel staff speaks very good English and is very accommodating and helpful. Room was clean and quiet, and food in the hotel restaurant was good. The hotel is relatively centrally located, even though getting from one place to another in Kolkata always took far more time than the distance on the map would suggest.
The hotel also holds a distinction of the only hotel out of a half a dozen or so that I stayed in on my trip to India that actually had hot water. In all the others, some far more pricier than Floatel, "hot" actually meant "barely room temperature".
If you are a foreigner, be careful with the Taxis that you hire through the hotel or near the hotel entrance. Most of the drivers expect to get more money from you than a random taxi driver on the street would.
