This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. It was great to have the linens included! House well stocked and really nice that it had starter soaps and toilet paper. Loved the rental company- would certainly use them again. Stayed 7 nights in Sep 2022 ### 2/10 Terrible #### Nalini P. 10 Oct 2020 Disliked: Cleanliness, communication, listing accuracy #### Very disappointing experience When we got to the place, the first thing we noticed was that the windows were dirty and had not been cleaned, the sofa in the family room was dirty and had holes in them, the dishwasher was broken, we also found 2 cockroaches in the bedroom and we also found someone’s underwear that had been left behind that the cleaning crew had not even picked up. After reaching out to the rental company they sent a dishwasher maintenance person who just removed the top rack which was broken and had prevented the dishwasher from being shut and told us he would have to get the owner to make a decision regarding the fixing of the dishwasher. He never turned up after that and we had to wash all the pots and pans and plates and cups by hand the entire week. The torn sofa was so dirty and ugly - it looked like it had been purchased from a flea market. Upon complaining they sent out bedsheets to cover it up.
