Steps to the ocean from dune deck dining area overlooking the beach \*\*\*SOUTHERN SHORES has PRIVATE BEACHES only for residents and their guests/renters. Consequently, the beach areas are not crowded.\*\*\* \*\*\*Private home with convenient CENTRAL location for visiting sites to the north (Duck, Corolla and off road north beaches) OR south (Wright Brothers, Nags Head, Lost Colony and sound/sea excursions).\*\*\* CUSTOM OCEANFRONT HOME with hexagonal open ceiling (cypress) in main house area with views of the ocean from the great room with adjoining dining area. We have rarely stayed in a rental location that felt so little like a garden-variety vacation rental and so much like a home. We stumbled upon this as a last-minute rental and immediately began looking forward to returning for at least a two-week stay. Also, communication with the owner could not have been better. The views of the ocean from the Master bedroom and decks were outstanding. It is set up great for a family with kids or a multi generation family trip with the two separate sleeping wings off of the main living area. The gated decks and outdoor shower made for some happy little kids and our dog as they could enjoy playing outdoors safely. We’re used to staying on a quieter road further south, but the views and home more than made up for the traffic and we will definitely look to stay here again when we plan our next trip. ##### Kirsten B.
