This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Kids bunkbeds were very comfortable, and loved having two bathrooms. The screened in porch was a plus, including the beautiful view of the sound. Kitchen was well appointed, and the sofas were comfy. Everything about this condo was perfect! The proximity to the sound and the very nice dock was perfect for watching sunsets! The condo itself was very nice. It was very clean and well stocked and so nicely decorated. The living room area was very large and the bed was very comfortable. The small deck had a great view of the sound and comfortable Adirondack chairs for relaxing. We used the pickleball court which was in pretty good shape in comparison to other places we've stayed. Everything was clean and the place felt like home. We thoroughly enjoyed Duck being a bike ride away, though getting back up the hill to the condo was quite the workout. The view of the sound was beautiful and I highly recommend walking down to the pier to take in a sunset or two. The beach is within walking distance (took us about 10 mins with a wagon full of stuff) and there is also a public access point with a parking lot a few streets down. The community tennis court and the indoor pool were big hits with my crew also. Our hosts were quick to respond and answered all of our questions.
