Sweet Tea is a classic 1950's Outer Banks oceanfront beach cottage located directly on the beach in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. In restoring the cottage, we have lovingly saved her timeless beauty and updated her with modern-day amenities. You MUST see to appreciate. And the beach and ocean are literally in your back yard . . . just walk down the porch steps and you're on the beach. You don't get any closer than this!! Sweet Tea cottage features an open living area with an oceanfront wall of windows maximizing the ocean views and natural light. Classic tongue-and-groove paneling throughout, stunning hickory hardwood and ceramic tile flooring, lots and lots of natural light, and ocean views. The living room features comfy seating, a large flat screen TV and ceiling fan. Adjoining the living room is the dining area with ample seating overlooking the sun deck, beach and Atlantic ocean. The well equipped kitchen features stainless steel appliances, fridge with filtered water and ice on the door, microwave, stove/oven, dishwasher, custom cabinetry, gorgeous quartz counter tops . . . and just about everything you need to prepare your favorite meals and entertain. Extending the inside living area to the outside is an oceanfront sundeck where you can catch some rays or sit under the umbrella at the high-top table and chairs. Enjoy evening cocktails sitting outside watching the pelicans soar overhead, or perhaps move to the covered front porch and enjoy the westerly breezes as the sun goes down. SOOO relaxing! Sweet Tea cottage offers three bedrooms and sleeps 6 comfortably (4 adults, 2 kids) with one king bedroom, one queen bedroom, and one bedroom with two twin beds. And don't let the one bathroom concern you as you'll want to take all your showers outdoors in the private, enclosed outside shower with hot and cold water. The cottage also features a stackable washer and dryer, ceiling fans in all bedrooms and living room, and central heat and air. Sweet Tea is situated in Kitty Hawk within a short drive to many local restaurants, shopping and attractions and walking distance to Ocean Boulevard Bistro & Martini Bar and Art's Place (a true "diner & dive" known for the best burger on the beach!). Enjoy spectacular shelling, surf fishing, sun bathing, surfing, swimming, kayaking, biking . . . and so much more. The house was a perfect size for our family and we loved its proximity to the beach. It was very easy to take morning and evening walks on the beach. The location is great and there are several nice restaurants nearby. Kim and Mark were fabulous hosts and very responsive. The owners made several updates to the house which made it an even more perfect getaway. From check in to check out they made sure we had everything we needed for the perfect beach vacation. We saw large pods of dolphins multiple times, found sharksteeth and had gorgeous sunrise views from right on the deck. Have stayed in several houses in the obx and this is by far my favorite! ##### Dianna M. This was our third year staying in the sweet tea cottage. As always communication with Kim was timely and detailed. This was our first time bringing our dogs and we were pleasantly surprised to find dog bowls setting out to welcome them. Wouldn't want to try it with more people since only one bathroom and overall very small. Fairly modern, had pretty much everything we needed for a nice stay. Manager responded promptly when we had an issue with the TV (my problem). Very easy beach access. My only complaint is the low water pressure in the shower. Sweet Tea is nestled in the dunes! Just walk to the top of the dunes and you can see the amazing ocean ... a couple more steps and you are on the beach! Incredible location! Sunrises are amazing! Private oceanside deck! Sweet tea cottage is clean, comfortable and tastefully furnished. My party of three with my doggies was quite comfortable. There was plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 dogs. Upon arrival it was obvious that the house was meticulously cleaned and was well equipped and maintained. The house was exactly as described online and the pictures really didn’t do it justice. The view from the back deck was spectacular day and night and we were able to gate it off so our dogs could easily be out there with us. We would highly recommend this cottage! ##### Adrian D. Our family visited friends from Atlanta for the week of Thanksgiving, which is our new tradition and we stayed at this cute home. The hosts were great, and incredibly sweet. The home itself is cute, and although small there was plenty of room for a family of 4 (and our pup!). Our friends and their two children also came to visit for an hour once and we weren't on top of each other, which was great! The home does sit behind some dunes (that are SO needed) so you don't have an unobstructed view, but you can see the water and you're a few seconds walk from the water. We hope to come back next year, and for many years to come! ##### Gemma T. When ever I had thought of a cottage on the beach…this house was what I had always dreamed of! Oceanfront with privacy because there was a slight dune separating the public beach from the back porch. You can hear the lull of the ocean which I so miss back here in Indiana. It was nice to sit on that porch and look up at the stars. There was a nice surprise under the house which we discovered the second day..a very clean and private outdoor shower stall with hot and cold water!! The inside was decorated so cute and everything is up to date and worked perfectly. The bedrooms were perfect for my small family of four. The two girls got their own room and we all shared the bathroom and it worked out just fine! There were games and puzzles and books to enjoy when it was rainy. There was some beach chairs and beach things To use under the house. It was also nice to have a stackable washer and dryer for towels. We had never visited The Outer Banks but we found Kitty Hawk to be the perfect location for us. With two girls who like to shop, having a short drive to Duck was great. We enjoyed the closeness to various restaurants as well because se go out for dinner while on vacation. Getting the keys and communicating with the owners was flawless. I wished we could have stayed anither week! Just a winderful place to stay for a small family!!!❤️ ##### kathi m.
