Quaint old property in a great location. Our room had the bathroom down the hall and was only for us - not shared. There is not a standup shower, just a tub with a shower attachment, but it was fine. There are only 2 rooms for guests. The other one has an ensuite bathroom. The hosts were very friendly and we enjoyed our stay. The information binder in the room was very helpful, with suggestions on local restaurants, things to do in Killin and also the surrounding areas.

Frank and Margaret were perfect hosts and this B&B suited our needs perfectly. So many things are walk-able in this interesting little village so steeped in history. I didn't mind that the bathroom was not en-suite, but we did not have to share it. We were served a perfect Scottish breakfast on the most beautiful table that our hosts had custom made right after getting married and being a woodworker I was quick to spot it's uniqueness. Margaret made some good suggestions for hiking and as we left the village we wished we had stayed longer.

A real gem
Despite technically being a room in a private house, I had all the privacy I could want, with my own bathroom, and the bedroom well separated from the hosts’ quarters. Very clean, modern, and comfortable. Real coffee and a selection of herbal teas in the room were a rare bonus! I left early the next morning, so missed breakfast, but Margaret kindly left a delicious array of fresh fruit and yoghurt out for me. The jacuzzi tub was another unexpected delight. All in all, tremendous value, and we’ll above average in terms of cleanliness and amenities.

Quality B&B
Spotless accommodations. Comfortable room, the owners were helpful and friendly. Meals were well prepared and had generous portions. I would recommend Lochleven B&B to anyone without reservation.

Just stay here, wonderful place and very lovely hosts. We felt right at home. The double room we stayed in was clean and spacious. It even had a jacuzzi bath that comfortably fit 2 people. Breakfast was fresh and delicious in the morning. Would absolutely come back and stay at this lovely town and B&B again.

The hosts were very accommodating. We were attending a wedding at 1.30 and when I requested early check in they couldn't have been more helpful; promising to have our room ready for 12.00 despite check in not officially being until 3.00. The room was spotless and comfortable with extra touches such as ground coffee and cafetiere. My only issue was not having an en suite but understand that this would be difficult in this lovely cottage.

I am sorry you appear not to have really enjoyed your stay. I remember the TV and internet were playing up and we did try to fix things that we knew about. It can be a hazard in a small village that the signal is not too strong at times, though we thought everything was OK. Apologies for that - we hope we have sorted the problem now.

On arrival we were disappointed as was not what we expected. The bathroom was Down the corridor through a door at the top of the Landing so not near our room as expected. Although was supposed to be for our sole use someone had used it. The hosts were ok but did make us feel uncomfortable. Property very dated. We felt it was overpriced and not worth what we paid compared to other B & B we have stayed in on this trip. Definitely would not stay there again.

Dear Alan I am sorry you felt your experience with us was so bad. I have tried to explain through the website capabilities that the bathroom in not en-suite and I think that is hopefully clearer now. No-one that I am aware of used the bathroom during your stay as we have our own toilet. I do however sometimes switch off the light when I think it has been left on by mistake, which maybe gave you the impression that someone was in it. There are only ourselves and the other guests who do have an en-suite in the building. Our property is dated - it is over 250 years old and we had to work within the parameters of what was possible to upgrade it. The rooms are as shown and I think the photography gives a good idea of what they look like. We have furnished the rooms with our own furniture and belongings as it is our home. Perhaps our taste is different to yours. As for pricing - we try to charge fairly. Within Killin, I think our prices are competitive or lower than most. Finally, and most importantly, I am sorry that you felt made uncomfortable by us. That is not a feeling you should have had. We seek to be accessible to our guests without being intrusive and there is a bell outside our private sitting room so guests can easily contact us if they require assistance.

Absolutely beautiful hosts who provided everything including wonderful service and homeliness. A wonderful breakfast with plenty of options of fresh fruit and a hearty cooked breakfast. Cosy bedrooms and spacious bathroom. We went up Ben Lawes and got soaked through - they offered to dry our clothes and returned them folded. Very, very generous. Will be visiting again!

The property is a home from home, very comfortable good sized rooms with teas and coffee readily available. The host very kindly gave us fresh milk. We had our own private bathroom which was very clean and roomy. My son and I will definitely stay here again. There was nothing to dislike.

We loved Lochleven B&B. First, our hosts were kind, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating to our needs from switching dates to parking to special breakfast requests, they did it all. We loved being able to easily walk to the Falls at Dochard, Loch Tay, restaurants, etc. The whirlpool in our suite was a nice surprise. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was a nice size. Parking was right behind the house. The breakfast was delicious! Home cooked and continental available. We ate like kings. The only thing is that the house could use a little updating. Not a lot, but a little. Make sure you got to Glen Coe for hiking and sightseeing. Wow!

Lovely B&B with character and very clean. Comfy beds. Great welcoming hosts. Lovely breakfast. Loved the breakfast room with loads of character and Margaret’s collection of Russian dolls❤️The location is spot on just 5 minutes stroll from all the Killin attractions.

Separate bathroom, aged decor yet adequate.
Room was old fashioned but adequate for purpose… however price matched others in area with better facilities… I wasn’t aware that it didn’t have an en-suite, bathroom was private to me though separate room, also only bath with attached shower nozzle, didn’t pick this info up from room details given. An inconvenience really after all day hiking. Breakfast and surroundings good.

Dear Colin I am sorry you were disappointed with the bath facilities. We have tried to describe the room within the limits of a tick-box given to us by the booking agent. It does state 'detached' private bathroom as opposed to private bathroom. I agree that is not immediately clear. But also they have combined information from our double ensuite which we will try to change. As for price matching - within Killin I would say we are fairly priced - a lot cheaper than our competitors on the site.

Friendly little place
The village of Killin is lovely, and this modestly priced B&B was a good spot on the main road. Nice breakfast included. The only downsides were the twin beds in our room were quite small and the bathroom was separate (although not shared, so that was fine). The hosts are lovely, very friendly!

Dear Guest Thank you for your kind review. I am sorry if you found the beds a little small, as they are standard UK single bed size - 3ft wide by 6 ft 3" (actually 6' 6" long). But it is helpful for you to point that out as they may not be suitable for tall people particularly as they have the bed frame raised at the foot of them. Quiet and comfortable room
The room is spacious and clean The ensuite bathroom appears to have recently been refurbished. The shower is very powerful, and the bath appears to be a jacuzzi (I didn't use the bath). A second door between the hallway and the bedroom means that no noise from the rest of the house can be heard from the bedroom. I wish more places could manage this, as it makes a massive difference. Plenty of breakfast options, and Margaret was kind enough to deliver mine to the room, as I had let her know I was in a hurry for an early start the next morning, which was greatly appreciated. She was also able to cater for gluten free, and I appreciated the fresh berries too. The bedroom itself has plenty of storage, although I was there just one night so didn't unpack. This is a great location for many walks and cycles, and I will not hesitate to book again. Highly recommended. I have stayed in other nearby hotels on previous visits, and this is by far the best. Covid precautions were standard.
