It was ok
The hotel is right behind a church but during our one night stay we did not hear the bells. The location with the lake next to the hotel is lovely. The building has tartan carpets throughout, which is nice but as a whole, they could do with more refurbishment, especially in the 90's style bathrooms and the communal areas. The room we stayed in had new carpet and furniture. The bathroom towels have smelled of kitchen grease, I guess this was due to a ventilation or storage issue maybe.
We've had dinner, the steak and ale pie was very nice, with tender meat. The burger was of really low quality (like Weatherspoons, but there the price would have been half of this) - the staff were nice and helpful though.
Breakfast was basic, as it can be expected from a 3 star venue, but there was a selection of teas, cereals toasts and freshly made Scottish breakfast.
