Located in sunny South Maui, Maui's South Shore boasts the most variety and breathtakingly beautiful beaches of all Hawaiian Islands. Just pack your swim suite and leave the rest to us. Staying in a house with relaxing outdoor spaces is truly one of the best ways to enjoy your vacation. This is a non-smoking property.

Why rent a private cottage? You never have to share the hot tub or the BBQ with any of the other tourists nor is there a closing time for the hot tub. Parking is so convenient directly in front of the cottage, you never have to compete with other guests for parking spaces. When you have your large suitcases, Costco purchases, beach gear and coolers, your car is just out the front door instead of meandering through a large complex with your heavy items.

The ancient Hawaiians traveled to Kihei for their Royal Retreats. There are six miles of beach along Kihei's coastline, including the popular Kama'ole beaches.

Our private cottage is located in a neighborhood in the heart of South Kihei, the sunniest part of Maui near the famous Kama’ole white sand beaches. Just a 10-minute walk to many things:

* Kalama Beach Park (tennis, volleyball, basketball, skate park, outdoor skating rink, beautiful sunsets, and more)
* Over 23 restaurants, coffee shops, and bars
* Shops, boutiques, open air markets
* Saturday Farmers market and grocery store
* The Cove Beach Park (paddle boarding and beginner surfing)

We love our morning and evening walks for coffee, breakfast, waterfront strolling, paddleboarding, happy hour, dinner, evening cocktails, and sunsets.

* Kamaole Beach Park 1, 2, 3 (Kam 1 is a 20-min walk) – the best swimming beaches

There are several beaches very close to the house depending on what you are interested in. When we go to the beach with our gear, we always drive. There is plenty of parking in front of the beaches and we have coolers, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, boogie boards, snorkel equipment, towels.

Here are all the distances to give you a better idea of our local beaches.
* Kalama Beach Park (0.5 mile, 5 min walk to beginning of the park) - retaining wall to the ocean and beach, small beach usually used by paddleboarders and surfers. Fantastic walk along the waterfront and where everyone gathers for sunset. The park is amazing with playground, tennis, volleyball, basketball, roller-skating rink and more
* Cove Park (0.7 miles, 10 min walk, 1 minute drive) - great for paddle boarding, wading in the water, beginner surf lessons leave from this beach

All the Kamaole beaches are considered some of the best beaches on Maui. We spend our beach time at Kamaole I.
* Kamaole Beach Park I (1 mile, 20 min walk, 3 min drive)
* Kamaole Beach Park II (1.6 miles, 32 min walk, 5 min drive)
* Kamaole Beach Park III (1.9 miles, 36 min walk, 6 min drive)

Short Drive (15-20 minutes):
* Famous Makena Beach, Wailea and world class golf courses
* Airport

Stroll in cute little shops while trying some local shave ice. You will love Maui's most unique shopping and dining experience at Kihei Kalama Village with great places to eat and over 40 vendors and boutiques. At the south side of Kalama Beach, you will find Cove Park where you can take surfing lessons or try stand up paddle boarding. Walk beyond Cove Park and you find Charley Young beach which is part of the famous Kamaole beaches.

In the morning, walk to Starbucks, Lava Java Coffee Roasters, or Da Greens and enjoy your coffee at the beach or in a lush tropical setting. During the early evening, you can enjoy Happy Hour at Three’s Bar and Grill or one of the other many places within a 10-minute walk of the house or enjoy the gorgeous sunsets at the beach.

Perfect Retreat

This charming cottage is a marvel of great design, surrounded by a beautiful garden. We enjoyed walking through the friendly neighborhood on our way to town. The owners are skilled, organized inn keepers. All contributed to a wonderful week on Maui.

Wonderful stay for our honeymoon retreat!

The hosts were really great at answering any questions prior to check-in and also touched base with us to ensure we had all we needed. The property itself was beautiful. It was so nice waking up in the morning, having coffee on the back porch and listening to the birds. It was a pretty short/enjoyable walk to restaurants and nightlife and the driveway was awesome for quick parking of our car. Would highly recommend to anyone who's looking to visit Maui! Wish we could redo this trip all over again. Couldn’t recommend this cottage enough. Best location, walking distance to so many great restaurants and beaches and easy access to highway and Wailea. They have thought of anything that you may need on the trip - even water bottles and thermoses for trip to Haleakala!

Book it and you won't regret it!

My wife and I have stayed at many different vacation rentals over the years, and this property is the best, pound for pound, that we have stayed in.It packs a real punch into its 1Bed/1Bath footprint. Hot tub, outdoor shower, two separate outdoor seating areas, in unit laundry, smart TVs, high quality linens, a luxury shower, and more! And that's just the physical features. The hosts Jenni and Dave think of literally everything they can to make your stay wonderful. Whether it's a welcome gift, extra sunscreen, or a recommendation book that's 2" thick, they have invested their time into making the place memorable. They've also invested their money - everything feels new and high quality, as of January 2025, or at the very least VERY well kept up. We also liked how walkable it was to S Kihei Rd and many of the major restaurants and stores near Kalama Park. We did this daily for breakfast and dinner.There should be a special category for hosts like this who keep up properties like this, because I'd stay at any of their properties again in a heartbeat. If this space fits your needs and is anywhere close to your budget, just book it because you won't regret it.

Cozy cottage

Well appointed cottage just the right size for 2 people. Everything up dated, very well equipped with everything you need to cook. We ate outside often and enjoyed sitting on the deck drinking coffee. The closest beach is very small so ended up driving to larger beach. Lots of beach equipment included with the cottage. We really enjoyed our stay!

Wow! Stay Here!!!

This is the most well stocked, best detailed vacation rental I have ever stayed in. They have thought of everything from the big things (hot tub) to the smallest detail (USB outlets). The place was immaculately clean and just an absolutely wonderful experience to stay in. The location is also perfect within walking distance of anything you might need or want. When we come back to Maui, we will definitely want to stay here again. All I can say is...WOW!

Wonderful Private Cottage

This was a clean, private, beautifully decorated little paradise! It was as depicted in a quiet neighborhood that was walking distance to the lovely main street in Kihei. The gardens are beautiful, the kitchen is stocked with everything you could hope for....I should say that the entire house is stocked with everything you need! The overall location is central to all Maui has to offer! Jenni was a pleasure to deal with and her recommendations are spot on! We hated to leave and hope to return again! Thank you for sharing this lovely home!

Beautiful and a bit of a walk when you go out

This cottage is a perfect retreat. Very private. Beautifully appointed, lovely restful, garden and great hot tub. But, unless you want to spend a lot if time walking, you need a car. Groceries are close but it’s a step and a half to the beach and back especially carrying beach stuff and if you want yo go and come a few times a day. Hi it’s were 100% helpful and responsive. Overall a lovely place to wait out the rain!

Honeymooners Paradise!

My husband and I LOVED our stay here. The property is clean, very private and stylish. We particularly loved the hot tub and rainfall shower! When looking for the perfect place I scoured every condo and hotel and decided this was the best. Great location and more privacy than a condo or hotel. Will definitely stay here if we ever come back to Maui! Jenni is very quick to respond and her extensive guide to Maui is very helpful. We were so sad to leave.... even tho we decided to finish up our stay at a very nice resort we knew we would miss the quaint, private and luxurious space we called “home” for a week. Thank you all for a beautiful stay!

Perfect place to stay in Maui!

My wife and I stayed at the Kihei Garden Oasis for our honeymoon and we couldn't have been happier with that decision. The cottage had everything we could've wanted and more. From the privacy, to the scenery, location, hot tub, amazing bathroom, smart tvs, full kitchen amenities, etc. It checked all the boxes for what we wanted during our stay. The location was excellent with easy access to the beach, tons of restaurants and activities. We spent the second half of our trip at one of the big resorts and found ourselves wishing we were back at the Cottage. Jenni and Dave are very hospitable and excellent hosts. We are already planning a trip back! Thank you!

Amazing! Best rental we’ve stayed in!

Beautiful, peaceful, and close to the beach and restaurants. We walked everywhere the majority of the time during our stay. Everything in the home was updated, high-end and spotless. The deck was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful landscape and a dip in the hot tub was a nightly must! The beach gear provided was in great condition and helped to save us on rental fees! The lack of bugs both in and outside the home was remarkable, never once bothered by anything pesky. Quick and pleasant communication! Would recommend this rental over and over again.

This Hawaiian Cottage is an amazing place to stay! We had one of the most relaxing vacations in Maui because of where we stayed! The listing description provides many comforts and amenities, which are ALL true. The beauty of this place is hard to believe until you are actually there....imagine a cup of coffee with a wonderful breakfast on the side lanai... the palm trees beside you and the beautiful back yard behind you... the birds are singing and there is a gentle breeze. It doesn't get any better than that! Again, privacy, ultimate comfort, and so much beauty!

Cute little cottage, very clean, nice change from a hotel

We really enjoyed staying at this cottage. It was a great change of pace from the typical timeshare condo or resort hotel room. It was much cleaner and well kept compared to other house rentals we've stayed at. Overall a 5/5 but I'd like to mention a few things to help others get a good idea of the property. Pros - Clean and new feeling (fully renovated ~2018, and professionally cleaned and landscaped) - Well stocked kitchen with a supermarket within walking distance - Large bathroom and a great shower Caveats - This cottage is very small. I believe it is actually a converted garage. It's cozy for 2 people but I don't see it working for any more than that (doesn't even have a kitchen/dining table, just a small counter). - The property is well landscaped and fenced, but you are very close to neighboring homes. While on the porch, I could hear the neighbors' conversation as if they were next to me. - The house has some beach gear, but does not come with bicycles, surfboards, or paddleboards; check the listing to see what exactly is there. - The location could be a pro or con depending on what you're looking for. It is on a quiet residential street about a 10 minute walk from Kihei's main beach road, but there are actually no sidewalks so we ended up driving back and forth most of the time. Cons - Way too many emails from the owners, before and after the stay. Some useful, many not. You will need to make a separate inbox folder and a filter for all their emails otherwise your inbox will be flooded. Not a big deal, but it became very frustrating when trying to find the one piece of needed information like the door code. I'm sure they had good intentions. - The couch cushions were stained and faded to the point where I felt better putting a clean towel over them. That may seem like a lot of caveats and cons, but keep in mind we loved our stay and just want to present the information we would have liked to have seen!

A little slice of paradise!

We couldn’t recommend Jenni and Dave’s luxury Kehei cottage more! Such a beautiful slice of Maui. Lots of activities, restaurants, shopping, etc to do within a 10-15 minute walk. The cottage itself was extremely clean and very comfortable. We hope to be back!
