disapointed
the cottage itself was very nice but for a partially disabled person I found it cold and uncomfortable. the sofa was far to low and the chairs extremely hard even using a cushion.

The comments that you have left are very disappointing. I try very hard to make sure that my guests have an really enjoyable experience. Your daughter thanked me when she left for staying "in our beautiful cottage". I had asked you beforehand if you were happy to go ahead and book, as I was concerned that the property would not be suitable for you, due to you being 83, but you did not let me know that you had health issues. I had to put the central heating on for you, in a middle of a heatwave, so any other guest would have found the temperature fine, if anything too hot. Next time you book accommodation, you should look carefully with your requirements. Kind regards Heather

An enjoyable stay. Busy road but quiet at night
Nice house but as it was September it was getting a bit cold and damp. Time for the heating to be turned on. The television woke us up one night, it turned itself on. Maybe it is worth having a look at it.

Welsh bungalow
very nice bungalow but situated next to a busy (during the day) road and a lane - lovely views, cosy beds, ok walks up steep hills. Close enough to the National Botanical Garden of Wales which is huge and beautiful (we got a weekly ticket and went 3 times). TV worked well and the sofa was comfy to relax after hard days walking - bath was wonderful too.

short 5 night break in carmthenshire
myself and three friends arranged a last minute golf break in the area... We found the cottage to be exactly as advertised.. clean and quaint.. sleeping arrangements were not ideal for our group but we knew this before we went..1 double room ,1 single and a sofa bed , but the facilities advertised could not be faulted, decent size rooms for such a small property comfy beds , good shower with constant hot water, and a small but fully equiped kitchen ..lovely views from rear of property which is set in a small and quite remote village. Due to covid restrictions we did not have much contact with the owner Heather, but she was most helpful and pleasant to deal with... All in all this cottage was fantastic value for money and we had a great time ... thank you Heather

Really liked the cottage and the lovely garden. The cottage was well equipped, warm and homely. Our only criticism (we are in our 60s!) Was the settee was low down & my husband found it difficult to get comfy as he has MS. Aside from that it was lovely and I was reluctant to leave.

Perfect cosy hideaway
Stayed here with a friend and our dogs for a long weekend in the countryside. It was a great base for exploring the local area and Heather the owner left us some fab tips for places to take the dogs. The cottage was really clean when we arrived and a checklist of Covid cleaning requirements had been left so we were happy in the knowledge everything was well sanitised and safe for our store. A lovely holiday was had by all and we would definitely recommend to others!

Mum and Daughter Break
Lovely week, everything we needed. Great position, amazing scenery, lots of places to go. We were lucky to have good weather, only 1 rainy day. Great to have a DVD player, binge watched The Hunger Games in comfort. 👍The only downside would be that if you take a dog , the garden is across a small road and they always need to be on a lead for safety. If you go dog less, it’s perfect, would definitely recommend. Owners were lovely and just across the road for any problems, if needed . Carmarthen for big supermarkets, only about 6miles away. Great holiday 😁

200yr old Welsh cottage near perfect for our 2 night stay
Cottage was clean and tastefully presented with everything we needed to sleep and eat. We washed our clothes after 2 weeks on the go. Central heating was also really nice! Only downside was that internet access as advertised was not available. But we got by using my phone as a hotspot. The welcome pack of firewood, milk and welsh cakes was really thoughtful. Never needed to disturb Heather for anything, so thankyou.

Quiet, cozy and easy to get to.
Booked for a "get away from it all new year break" and wasn't disappointed in the least. Fully equipped cottage with ample off street parking, within easy reach of shops. Very clean and tidy albeit a bit chilly, but it was January 1st and it is a stone built cottage !, once the fire is on and your inside you can forget the world around you and relax. Low doorways and lower light fittings are a bit of an issue if you're over 5'8" (I have the bruises to prove it!) but its a 100 odd year old place so it's expected !! Lovely walks for the dog within a stone's through from the door and an enclosed patio area which is safe for pooch to be left out in. All round highly recommended and a fantastic little place to stay.
Stayed 2 nights in Dec 2017
Response from VrboOwner on 30 Mar 2020
Delighted to hear that you enjoyed your New Year break. You stayed during a very cold spell that had swept across the country, with some awful weather, but I am sure that you thoroughly enjoyed chilling by the log fire. There are some low doorways and unfortunately this cannot be altered, but it all adds to the character of the building. Glad that you found some good walks for the dog. Kind regards Heather

Beautiful cottage, full of home comfort
Easy to find, away from it all and we had a very relaxing time. The cottage was warm in the living area, not too hot in the bedrooms, so comfortable to sleep. The lights were the only problem, the kitchen light was energy saving, and missing a bulb, so we could hardly see when cooking, but it added to the fun of it all. Wonderful power shower to wake you in the morning. We were welcomed with milk, tea, coffee, sugar and Welsh cakes, lovely touch, and the host was on hand if we needed her. Many thanks for a lovely stay. It was recommended to us by our daughter who stayed in September, and we have since recommended it to several friends.

My Wife, toddler and I have just had a wonderful stay. The property has everything that one needs when away from home and space is more than enough. It has lots of character from the gorgeous fire place, decor and the views are truly wonderful. We took a trip on a local steam train and I recommend the expierience whether you have children or not. The beds are comfortable and there is a great selection of dvds and games. We will be booking again and the only thing we regret is that our stay was not longer!! :-)

Lovely cottage and owner
On the whole a great stay. Cottage was lovely although we had no heating at first but a call to the owner remedied that. There was no gate on the garden which wasn't great for our dog but the welcome letter detailed local walks which was very useful. Kitchen had all we needed although the knives could do with sharpening. Shower was lovely hot and powerful. Beds were comfy....all in all....a great place!

Gorgeous cottage everything you could possibly need, feels like a home away from home. Perfectly placed for exploring Carmarthenshire, Heather has left very informative folders with plenty of leaflets and places of interest which we made use of and then spent evenings sitting in front of the fire with a glass of wine. We were very fortunate to have lovely weather so we're able to sit out in the garden and admire the beautiful views. the overall property was nice but quite cold. could have done with a few well placed rugs. water hot
We enjoyed our time and the location was very good. Could do with a bit of updating. The furniture especially the sofa bed. Bed in double room very squeaky and uncomfortable. Water lovely and hot. Kitchen smaller than expected as we cooked a few days not very well equipped. Very clean rooms when we arrived and a lovely welcome letter from Heather.
Response from VrboOwner on 30 Mar 2020
I am glad that you enjoyed your stay in the cottage and that you found the rooms lovely and clean. Regarding some of the points that you have raised, the cottage is over 200 years old and it is a small kitchen that cannot be altered, but does have everything that you need for a holiday break. When you stayed, it was a very cold few days with the first snow of the year having fallen and there was plenty of firewood left for visitors, but the fire was not used by yourselves.
