But we took this trip last-minute, so our options were limited. If you are worried about this hotel after some of the reviews, don't be. It's not fancy in any way, but the staff are lovely, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The shared bathrooms were also very clean - we bumped into the cleaning lady in there several times in one day, so they are obviously well-looked-after. So, if you are the fence, as long as you're not looking for fancy, this is a good option. It was a very clean room in a quiet secure part of the hotel with a comfortable bed. The only downside was that there were no powerpoints we could access in the room - only some in the hallway. Obviously it is quite an old building but my husband needed to charge his computer for work the next day as he had a meeting with colleagues in US. I needed to leave early for my makeup job the next morning but we had no key to get back into the building and noone was around so my husband had to stand at the main door holding it open to make sure we didn’t get locked out. Otherwise, the pub itself has a really nice atmosphere and if I wasn’t getting up early next day, would have definitely hung around for a drink and listen to the live music.
