The best area to stay in Khónai is the central area around the main square and the waterfront, particularly for those seeking convenience and access to local amenities.

This central district is the heart of Khónai, where you'll find most of the town's shops, restaurants, and cafes clustered around the main square. The waterfront promenade, just a short stroll from the square, offers pleasant views and a selection of tavernas. It's a compact and walkable area, making it easy to explore on foot.

Couples often find this central location ideal. It provides easy access to evening strolls along the waterfront, romantic dinners, and the convenience of having everything within reach. You're also well-placed for excursions to nearby beaches or archaeological sites.

For those travelling with family, staying in the central area offers practical benefits. There are often shaded areas in the main square for children to play, and the proximity to various eateries means you can easily find options to suit all tastes.

The best time to visit Khónai is during the shoulder seasons of late April to early June and September to early October.

During these periods, you'll find the weather pleasantly warm and sunny, great for exploring the island without the intense heat and crowds of the peak summer months. The Aegean Sea is warm enough for swimming, and you can enjoy the beaches and outdoor activities comfortably.

Couples looking for a romantic getaway will appreciate the quieter atmosphere and the opportunity to enjoy the island's beauty at a more relaxed pace. Restaurants and attractions are fully open, but you'll have an easier time securing reservations and finding a peaceful spot.

Families travelling with children will also find these times ideal. The milder temperatures are more comfortable for little ones, and the beaches are less crowded, allowing for a more enjoyable and relaxed holiday experience.
