We were given a tour when we arrived and offered use of a gorgeous fireplace (ready to light) and sitting room, but we decided to take a walk and sit on patio overlooking pond instead. We saw a moose, beaver, wonderful birds including hummingbirds. And breakfast was wonderful—great coffee, lovely menu, a wonderful fresh fruit salad, eggs made to order (great omelet option), bacon, sausage, potatoes, toast…such a treat. The history and the quality of the dining are unparalleled. I had no idea it was going to be as good as it is because I came to ski Keystone and needed lodgings in the area, and then was blown away. Very convenient and not the normal lodging. Very friendly hosts. My only recommendation would be to change up the breakfast every day. The scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon were delicious, but would have been nice to tried a few other entrees the other days. The lodge oozes old-school ski charm and the staff is just outstanding, Brett the manager in particular. It's as close as you can stay to Abasin, and there's a great hot tub steps away apres. Great location, cozy atmosphere, and great food. Super comfy beds. They were turned down and the room was tidied up every day when I came back in, and I really appreciated that. The very best part of it all was Francisco. He made us feel as if we were the only guests there. He was so kind and really went the extra mile to take care of us. We did not get to spend much time with the rest of the staff because of their schedules and our trip dates but with the few interactions we had with them we think they’re wonderful too!
