The back door leads to a paved patio area with garden furniture. Stairs from the entrance lobby lead to the first floor landing. From the landing a door leads to the open plan living area. There is a good sized, comfortable lounge with two settees, TV, and various pictures of Lakeland fells. A selection of tourist information, Lake District magazines and books are in the living room cupboard. The cottage is beautifully furnished, great attention to detail has been put into the decoration of each room and all the furniture is of excellent quality. Alongside the lounge is the beautiful newly fitted kitchen and dining area, with all the modern facilities as you would expect from your kitchen at home, so whether you eat out every night or stay in and play Gordon Ramsay, we are sure you will find everything you need. There is an electric oven with gas hob, microwave, large fridge freezer, dishwasher, and plenty of cupboard space, plus lovely views towards Latrigg & Skiddaw. The dining area has a pine table and chairs. The second floor has two bedrooms, one double and one large twin bedroom, both bedrooms have quality mattresses & excellent bed linen for a comfortable nights sleep, bedside cabinets, wall lights, clock radios and built in wardrobes with ample hanging room and shelf space. Towels are provided. Alison's View is conveniently situated to enjoy all of Keswick's amenities' The house is cosy, comfortable, clean and very well equipped. The jewel in the crown (oddly) is the garage, an absolute bonus. This is extremely convenient, spacious and is as equally well equipped as the rest of the house. We intend to return! As before we found the house to be comfortable, clean and very cosy. from weather forecasts we expected a tricky week with snow - this fortunately never materialised. The house is so handy for all the amenities in Keswick, we would certainly look forward to a further visit. Well equipped for four people, you can either cook at home, by in from Booths supermarket or use any of the restaurants, pubs or takeaways in the town. It has the additional benefit of a (large) garage where the car sat and we either walked or used the excellent local bus service. Children's toys, games, high chair and even a buggy are there to use. Their clients are obviously required to provide a standardised level of facility with a minimum standard of equipment and presented to a standardised level. Bedding, towels etc all as we have come to expect. Alison’s View was no exception. It’s not a picture postcard cottage by any means given it’s located almost directly in the centre of town. It is however well maintained, clean and has everything you will need for a break in Keswick. The garage is an absolute bonus in the centre of Keswick. Very pleased with our stay there and will definitely return if available dates allow. The property is in the centre of Keswick so great for access to all the amenities of Keswick. The space was alright and the 2 bedrooms were of good size. The only issue with the bedrooms was the double bed in the main bedroom. It sank and wallowed all over so got very little sleep the first night. As there was just the 2 of us staying in the property we swapped to the other 2 single beds which were better although the soft sided bed bases do not make for comfortable sleeping. Parking is another issue. There is a good sized garage for the car but it is a bit of hassle getting the car in and out. On street parking is limited but always managed to find a spot. I imagine this will be more of a problem in the school holidays. But the fact that you are guaranteed a space because of the garage is a plus. Anyway the garage came in very useful with the dogs. If the beds are changed then we would use it again. ##### Paul A. It's closeness to the centre of Keswick is very handy (and also to Keswick Cottages, if required, and they are always very pieasant to deal with). The house is comfortable and has everything you need for a self catering stay in the Lakes. Its easy & quick to take dogs to Fitz Park round the corner as there Is no garden. We had a house keeping problem which was resolved by Keswick Cottages immediately with no quibble. Can highly recommend a holiday at this house. We will return. Fab little cottage and we will probably come back at some time. Pro's: Great location, only a few minutes from the hustle and bustle of Keswick centre. The garage is a huge bonus as parking in Keswick centre is becoming harder every year. Parked up and never used the car until it was time to come home. Cottage is very well equipped and there are plenty of films and games to keep people entertained Con's: The fridge door needs some attention, it stays open slightly as the covering door is not seated correctly. The shower is not very powerful but ok. The bed is comfy but a little small for our preference. Summary: Really enjoyed our short break and will probably rebook at some time in the future. The kitchen lounge areas are well equipped. The bedrooms both have large skylights which were great left open at night as there was a heatwave while staying and we enjoyed cool night’s sleep.
