This could just be us but we found we didn't sleep well because of this.The steps down to the cottage are very dark at night. The location was brilliant, being so close to local amenities and the Lake. The cottage was comfortable in general but we found; the bed rather too firm (personal preference we know); the wardrobe doors in the bedroom were so hard to open (magnetic closures) that a poorly secured handle came off; no veg. peeler, cling film, aluminium foil or spare loo rolls provided and the freezer needed defrosting. We would have preferred a dishwasher over a clothes washer. The main failing with the property is that, although it is essentially a ground floor flat (as correctly described in the description), we heard every footfall from above. Something really needs to be done about soundproofing between floors. Fantastic hiking base. internet and car park inclusion was essential. living room is cozy and a good place to relax. It is very quiet and has afternoon sun. Benod is decent and bedroom can be kept cold and aired easily, but sheets were washed with too much laundry detergent and gave of perfume scent for the entire week. A dish drying rack would have been a plus, since you have to do your own dishes. The biggest pot for cooking was still too small. but other than that, the kitchen has everything that would be considered standard. We cooked 7 days in a row.
