The house was lovely. It was super cute and loved looking at the decorations. Smelled wonderful when we walked in. Very clean and provided all cooking needs and wants for starting your day with a beautiful view on the porch. We intended to bring our pup but didn't due to travel issues. The pup sheet, food/water station, treats and outside kennel were such a nice addition. We got this place all because of the pup amenity of keeping the house and pup safe while attending my Dad's memorial. We needed to have our pup with us during this time of mourning; unfortunately all of us could not travel so pup stayed at home. We will return as this place was a very peaceful place and we truly loved our stay. Thank you for providing a beautiful little RB that made our trip peaceful during a very emotional time of accepting death. Sincerely, Nicole

Beautiful views of hill country!

We loved staying at the Red Barn! We enjoying sitting on the generous deck watching the sunrise in the mornings and feeling the cool breezes in the evenings , viewing the deer and hummingbirds, and taking in the gorgeous view of the hill country. The place itself was so fun and creative with cabinetry made from old palettes and tin, interesting antique memorabilia everywhere and well stocked with food and drinks. Everything was in good working order and clean, comfortable bed, great shower and breakfast nook. We cooked all our meals using the well appointed kitchen and outdoor grill/oven. David and Martha were amazing hosts and very responsive. We hope to come back!

Weekend getaway

This property was very nice and quiet. Set up on top of a hill with beautiful views and sitting out on the back porch was great. Grilling and watching the Olympics. The inside had so many neat old things that made the cabin charming. Bed was comfortable. We really enjoyed watching the deer every evening . 10/10 would recommend. David and Martha were great and responded quickly. They even left fresh eggs and sausage fruit was a nice touch.

Wow!

I could go on and on about how wonderful our experience was with staying at the Red Barn! The hospitality that was shown far exceeded our expectations and was by far the best vacation stay we have experienced so far. We will be returning! The hosts were so friendly. The Red Barn felt like home. If you stay during the warmer months, a visit to the Ingram Dam is a must. Thank you again for going above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. 5☆ Little Red Barn

This was a great place for my husband and I to stay when we wanted to explore the Hill Country on our motorcycle. Very clean and well stocked. They thought of everything. Fresh eggs and pork sausage, corn on the cob, watermelon, fruit, veggies for the grill, drinks, coffee, you name it!!! Absolutely loved sitting on the patio in the early morning and evening watching the deer in the back yard. Cool vintage memorabilia for decoration that makes it feel so homey. WE WILL BE BACK!!!

So cute & tons of extras

My husband and I just left the Red Barn. We had a great stay. I can't say enough about all of the extra touches put into this"tiny home!!" The hosts have thought about everything from toothbrushes to water, soda, fresh eggs, snacks, Danish, and venison sausage!! They even hung up birthday balloons and a banner for my husband. The kayaking is not on site but the host will transport the kayaks to the river when you want to use them. Seeing deer stroll thru the yard throughout the morning and evenings was so relaxing from the porch! I'd definitely recommend this home for a couple's get away!!

Best stay ever!

First of all the location was absolutely perfect. Do you feel like you’re out in the country but you’re five minutes from city conveniences. The attention to detail for guest comfort was absolutely amazing in this little place. They have absolutely thought of everything. They left fresh sausage and eggs, fruit, vegetables, and cold bottles of water , soda and tea. We were so impressed with everything! We brought our small dog and he loved it! You can completely close the gate on the porch and your dog cannot get out and other animals cannot get in. I cannot recommend this place enough. Perfect for a couple and a dog or maybe a couple and one child. They have a grill outside on the porch with a gorgeous view and also have a television that hides up behind. We sat out and grilled steaks and watch football. It was an absolutely wonderful weekend.!!!! Thank you!!!!

Our Hill Country Go-To Spot

We have stayed here twice so far with our family of four and a dog. The house is so cute and functional - we had everything we needed for a great stay. The hosts - David and Martha - have thought of every single detail. The place is stocked with breakfast food, snacks, all the necessary cooking supplies, pots & pans and dishes. There was even a bit of dog food and a chewing snack for our pup. When we said we'll be arriving late, the hosts had the couch set up for our kids, so they could go straight to bed. We love relaxing on the deck with a dreamy top-of-the hill view and easy access to activities, both in town and outdoors. The location is within a 10-15 min drive to downtown Kerville, with easy access to local parks, bike trails and the river for kayaking. Downtown Kerville hosts all sorts of festivals and events and there are lots of restaurants in town. We also enjoy staying in, grilling and watching Netflix. It's a perfect getaway spot!

Mental reset

Impressed with how cozy and welcoming this little Red Barn is. This place has everything you need to make you want to stay. From the thought out old school ranch style decor, to the floating TV over the grill this place makes you feel completely disconnected from the fast life and makes you dive into the peace and quiet of the hill country while letting you have some modern amenities just in case the football itch is too strong and you need to tune in for a few games. If you want to enjoy their super well equipped kitchen, HEB is less than 10min drive and if cooking is not for you, then they have a lot of options between fast food and sit down places all within a few miles. I loved the feeling of being secluded while also having a lot of places close and enjoyed many hours just chilling out on the deck while having a few brews. I really enjoyed my time in this place and will use it in the future whenever I need to disconnect and slow things down.

The Red Barn was just right

Our family of four enjoyed staying at the Red Barn very much. What a pleasure to find the place stocked with various foods and drinks, a "welcome" breakfast pastry, and even dog treats for our pet.The Red Barn is nicely constructed; everything works and is cleverly designed for the cozy space. The place felt bigger than I had anticipated! The sliding door to the bedroom is on a smooth, quiet rail, offering privacy from the main living area. The queen-sized Lazy Boy sleeper sofa in the living room was comfortable for lounging in the daytime and for sleeping at night. The queen-sized bed in the bedroom was also very comfortable. Even the shower was larger than I had expected. The electric fireplace was very efficient to warm up the place on a brisk morning. We had enough pillows to go around, and we asked for an extra blanket, which was delivered promptly by our host. There was a guitar available to play, adding to the ambiance. The deck is a very inviting place, with a view of the hills, two rocking chairs, a patio table for four, and a gate that latches, which was handy for having our dog lounge with us on the deck. We had originally planned to eat out for dinner, but the weather and the view were so nice, we opted to grill steaks and eat out on the deck. The corn hole game in the yard was fun, too. The kennel under the deck for our dog was spacious, clean, well-maintained, sheltered and secure, not to mention air-conditioned, if we had needed it.The property is situated on a non-through street, so there was very little traffic on the road, and the surroundings were quiet and starry at night. We made excursions into both Kerrville and Bandera during our stay and found plenty to do, while also having time to relax back at the Barn.We felt very taken care of by our hosts. I would highly recommend staying at the Red Barn.

This is a remarkable property. The hosts put a lot of attention to detail and it is a treat. We stayed the weekend but had our adult granddaughter staying one night. The space is a little tight for 3 adults but it was only one night and absolutely doable... The porch is outstanding. We spent coffee mornings and pleasant evenings sitting in the rockers and hubby took his breakfast on the 4 top table. We travel with our own coffee pot which is a lightweight travel Keurig... we were able to bring the pot out to the porch and use it in the outdoor kitchen area and so have our coffee without disturbing the sleeping granddaughter on the sofa bed. The kitchen was so perfectly stocked that I actually made breakfast and it was amazing. Everything we needed was accessible and easy to find. That well stocked referigerator was a delightful surprise as most BNB's just don't do that anymore. We had only "one" minor issue... the parking is on a somewhat steep incline and we had parked our car next to granddaughter's... when trying to leave and back out the loose material on the drive wouldn't catch traction and our Jeep Gladiator was sliding toward granddaughter's car as we tried to back out. After the granddaughter left we parked parallel instead of head in and had no more problems. We will DEFINITELY choose this property again. It's a perfect hill country retreat. While there, get a reservation at 1011 Bistro in Kerrville! Amazing!
