"A very warm welcome from all staff. Very clean everywhere. Spacious room with every amenity you could want. Even a rubber mat to leave wet/ muddy boots on. A great choice of breakfasts. Evening meals had a wide choice with generous portions at reasonable prices. Even catered for gluten free diets. That's me!."

"We had a wonderful stay at The Hare and Hounds and can't recommend it highly enough. The food was top notch — the roast beef was absolutely superb and the seabass was equally impressive. You can tell a lot of care goes into the kitchen here. The staff were friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived, nothing was too much trouble, and the whole place has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Our bedroom was spotlessly clean and really well appointed — comfortable, thoughtfully put together, and everything you could ask for. The cooked breakfast the next morning was another highlight, with clearly top-quality ingredients and service. We would hands down stay here again. Thank you to everyone at The Hare and Hounds for such an enjoyable visit."

"A beautifully converted and newly modernised old farmhouse, in the peace and quiet of the idyllic Lake District countryside. Very well laid out with everything you could possibly need - and more - for a self-catered stay! Spacious, clean, comfortable, fabulous kitchen, cosy living room, good sized bedrooms, powerful showers, plenty of hot water - a home from home!We had a super weekend, with wider family members staying in the adjacent cottage, would definitely visit again if the occasion arrose. Highly recommend to anyone who'd love to stay on a farm on a hill, with some very adorable sheep!"

"Fantastic place to stay. Easily within reach of all lakeland activities. Lovely, clean and well maintained with everything you need in a home from home. We had a terrific family hol with three adults and two kids. Lovely to see all the cows, sheep and horses just outside. 100% booking again. Very nice hosts too!"

"It was a pleasure staying here, and I would definitely come back. The place was exceptionally clean—honestly one of the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in. The only downsides were the pillows and the bed. The pillows were too firm and thick, and the bed wasn’t very comfortable. Overall, a lovely place to stay, and I would definitely recommend it to others!"
