Auschwitz-Birkenau is unlike any place in the world where over one million innocent souls were mercilessly exterminated or forced to do gruelling labour while being systematically starved.

Very interesting city much to see particularly impressed by the city museum and Silesian museum. Also a central location easy to get to Ostrava or Krakow e.g. fascinating example of the redevelopment of a major industrial centre
