The small beach used by this complex almost disappears at high tide but at low tide it’s a wonderland of small marine life with easy snorkeling. This unit is small (about 700 sq ft) but quite adequate for our family of 2 adults and one teenager. Well equipped and the shower drained well and provided clean warm water. Also a change of bed linens after a week would be nice but overall we had a good visit and would definitely stay here again ##### Carol L. Sunrise watching from the balcony and falling asleep to the sound of ocean waves with the porch door were incredible. 100/10 made our trip. Kaapa Sands as a complex is charmingly vintage and the on site pool is beautifully landscaped with tropical plants.For the drawbacks and why I substacted a star: For reference, We've stayed next door at lai nani once before in a relatively newly renovated condo and this one was by comparison a bit tired (rusty door locks, lamp harps, very dusty and greasy oven hood fan and overhead light fixture, etc). It seemed like housekeeping was good enough but not super thorough-- we found some items from the prior guests under the bed. Also, some of the extras we relied on a lot, like the beach chairs, were also pretty beat up-- with stuck zippers and broken buckles. Lastly, not having in-unit laundry (it took 3 trips to the on site coin-op laundry room before I found machines that were available) is also a drawback but we knew that going in. All in all, we had a wonderful trip. Just go in knowing you're sacrificing some modernity and cleanliness but getting an absolutely amazing beachfront location. ##### Rosemary B. It’s an incredible property. The view is breathtaking and insanely gorgeous. The house has everything we needed for the week and didn’t have to purchase anything special. The beds were comfy, bathroom and kitchen clean. It’s central in location to the store and some wonderful places to eat yet quite at night to be able to relax and enjoy the peace of being here. A great trip and will definitely be back to Kauai again. Would definitely stay here again! ##### Kelly L. But the moment to walk out the sliding door that’s where the magic is. We absolutely loved the small piece of beach we had rich in the backyard of the home. My chronically unimpressed husband said I knocked it out of the park with this reservation! Nothing like seeing the ocean from bed. We spent every morning outside watching the glorious sunrise. With only a handful of other units, you practically have a private beach. It was very quiet. Pool was nice too!As for the unit, I am not sure how I’d fare without ac in summer but it was fine in April. We slept with the slider open and the fans on. Unit was super clean and well equipped.
