Kanoya Vacation Packages

Tokyo, the national capital, stands 590 miles to the northeast of Kanoya.

Grab a picnic blanket and a great book and spend a little quiet time by the seaside. Urada Beach, 45 miles to the south, and Iso Beach, 20 miles to the northwest, are well worth the journey.

Kagoshima features some fabulous nature reserves. Two worthwhile attractions nearby to Kanoya are Kojima Island (30 miles away) and Mochiosekinoo Prefectural Park (25 miles away).

A visit to Kanoya City Culture Museum will teach you a lot about the local culture and the many people who reside here.

Sports fans will appreciate the atmosphere at Kagoshima Arena. It's in Kagoshima, about 25 miles to the northwest of Kanoya. Remember to have a few drinks at one of the nearby pubs after the game.

Take a trip to Furuecho. It's approximately 6 miles away from Kanoya, and where you can find Kanoya Air Base Museum and Kanoya Rose Garden. That said, Tarumizu is approximately 10 miles away. When you get there, go to Arimura Lava Lookout and Tarumizu Road Station.

About 14 miles to the northwest of Kanoya is Arimura, a regional hub where you can visit Buried Shrine Gate, Arimura Lava Observatory and Sakurajima Dinosaur Park. Sakurajima Visitor Center and Kagoshima Citizens' Culture Hall are also great options if you're after more things to do.

To truly understand the heart and soul of Kagoshima, you have to accustom yourself with its particular spices and flavors.

Ensure that you look out for the more common regional ingredients, like beef and noodles.

Don't head home without trying tempura (deep fried seafood or vegetables) and hakata ramen (noodles in pork bone soup).

Got a bit of a sweet tooth? Treat yourself to some anpan (sweet roll)

If you enjoy sampling the world's beers, grab a table with your mates and order a round of Asahi Premium Beer Jukusen. Clink glasses and enjoy one of the region's best-loved brews.

If you want to have a non-alcoholic beverage, genmaicha (green tea with brown rice) is always a popular option.

Recognized as one of the most well-known local spirits, junmaishu is something you have to try at least once.

Seasoned travelers understand that the way to get the most out of a journey is to pick up some interesting phrases in the native tongue. Ikura desu ka? means how much is this. There's also Gokoūn o inorimasu, which translates as good luck.

The 23rd of December is the day when everybody, old and young, will mark Birthday of Emperor Akihito. You're sure to find plenty of special festivities if you're lucky enough to be here then.

The only downside of going on vacation is that it eventually must end. While you may feel a bit emotional bidding "後でお会いしましょう (Atode o ai shimashou)" to Kanoya, bear in mind that you can always come back!

When you're ready to get your flight, be advised that the nearest airport is roughly 30 miles north.
