My experience at De Silva was excellent from start to finish, largely because of the people who run it so thoughtfully. Before arriving, Andrea was consistently quick to respond to emails, answering questions clearly and thoroughly. Once at the resort, the same professionalism and warmth carried through across every area. I didn’t get everyone’s names and all the staff deserve credit for being welcoming and attentive; from the accommodation (Nalika and Nirosha) to dining - Naveen took extra care at all mealtimes, always checking everything was right and happily accommodating requests. Viraj and others also contributed to this consistently high standard of service — the whole team worked seamlessly and with genuine care. The bar, wellness, and activity side of the resort is also a real highlight. Umesh is approachable and full of ideas, clearly passionate about wellness and generous with his time and advice. Priyantha at the bar adds to the experience. The massage treatments from Samantha were excellent — deeply relaxing and very professionally delivered. Finally, the wind sports team is outstanding. Led by Baba, along with Sachin and the wider crew have a genuine focus on helping guests progress, the instruction feels both personal and encouraging. Whether through structured lessons or quick, well-timed tips spotted from the beach or on the water, their advice made a noticeable difference to my kiting. The whole team are supportive and knowledgeable.

Just came back from our 7 day stay at de Silva Palm Resort. It‘s a very nice resort with lots of open space and big palms trees. The rooms were clean and well kept. Our family suite even had a fridge and kettle. The pool is spacious, our kids loved it. Whenever we showed up we were handed fresh beach towels, Overall the service was great: Naveen the restaurant manager is there for you with tipps and advice (even in really good German), the barkeeper is very friendly and so is the kiting staff. Our girls (8/10 y) could move freely and safely between the two resorts. They tried windsurfing for the first time, which was great fun thanks to their patient instructor. We also did a mangrove boat trip, which was a nice change. The resort has a welcoming community feel, so our kids were really sad when we were leaving after a week. We all a great time. Thanks again to the great stuff, from kitchen to reception and water sports.

Goeie locatie , wel ver van alles weg en dus enkel geschikt als verblijf om te kite surfen. Materiaal cfr badminton en pingpong onvoldoende kwaliteit. Wel op zich mooi verblijf en vriendelijke medewerkers. Eten lekker en niet duur.

El calor en la habitación insoportable, un ventilador de pie , alivia poco.. El cuidado de las zonas generales muy bien y con encanto. Lástima del camino hasta llegar al hotel, muy, muy malo ..una vez allí, no es difícil sentirse en el paraíso.

Small room with bad bathroom

The best thing about this hotel is the service from chef, barman and kitchen staffs. The swimming pool is clean and good size. The checked in was very slow as the staff did not know of our arrival. The room we got is definitely NOT worth 91 dollars per night for sure. Very small, very very basic ,no television, no fridge, no internet, no tea/ coffee. Ok that I can bear. The mirror is so filthy like it has never been cleaned for years. The worst is the shower, it did not function well, we had to unscrew and shower from the pipe. Water did not drain and clog on the floor. There is no separation between wet and dry area, so it is dangerous to use the hair drier which unfortunately is fixed on the wall of the bathroom. The faucet is about to come off. There is no amenities except 2 toilet rolls. The 2nd day, no make up room. We asked to settle the bill as the next day we had to leave at 4:30 am., after asking 4-5 times and one hour of waiting,the bill finally settled. We came back to our room and about to sleep, suddenly someone came and asked us to pay for our rooms which we have paid through hotels.com already. The atmosphere of the hotel is nice and relaxing but Please do not position yourself as 3 stars hotel when the room is merely like only one star and the owner are not professional enough as a hotelier.

Hübsches Hotel, Perfekt für Kitesurfer, sehr freundliches Personal, angenehme entspannte Atmosphäre, hervorragendes Essen. Neben Wassersport gibt es wenige Aktivitäten vor Ort, allerdings bietet das Hotel sehr schöne Rundreisen an, individuell auf die Wünsche der Gäste angepasst und das zu fairen Preisen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden!

We stayed a couple of days, as a family (2 kids), at the De Silva resort to learn kitesurfing. Friendly, helpful, family friendly, and fun staff. Up to date windsurf, and kitesurf equipment, and expert instructors. We also met the friendly owners Kathy and Upul (former Sri Lankan windsurf champion), who created this little watersports paradise. We stayed in the non-AC cabanas, very clean, and everything you need for a hang loose surf vacation (they also have AC-room when you prefer that). Many thanks for a wonderful time!
