About this property
Rock and Stone - Stone mansion under the rock- 2BD
A harmonious coexistence of wood and stone rests reverently on the rocks of Meteora, creating a residential composition that was aptly named Rock & Stone. Trees under the melody of birds. Ideal for 5 people, with living room, kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a lovely courtyard and private parking. It is the perfect combination of traditional aesthetics of the landscape with the warm and welcoming atmosphere of a recently renovated paternal farmhouse and my wife and I tried to convey this unique result decoratively and aesthetically. It consists of two floors. We find a comfortable living room, a fully functional kitchen and the 1st bathroom downstairs. On the second floor are the comfortable bedrooms, the 2nd bathroom and a wonderful wooden terrace where you can be isolated for moments of relaxation and tranquility. The courtyard of the house next to the verdant ravine is surrounded by age-old trees with exquisite company the chirping of birds. It invites you to enjoy your coffee or your meal and enjoy unique moments of tranquility, relaxation and contact with nature overlooking the sky-high rocks of Meteora. The house is cleaned with cleaners that disinfect communicable diseases (COVID-19)

The location of this apartment is perfect for hiking in Meteora. The Holy Trinity trail is literally just out the door and slightly up the hill. We were very comfortable with all the amenities we needed for our 4 day stay. The kitchen is well equipped and we were able to prepare breakfast easily. We ate dinner in one of the evenings after a 7 mile hike and there were enough pots and pans to make a great meal. There is also a cute little restaurant right around the corner so you don't have to go down into town to eat out if you don't want to. Everything was in great condition and we would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful house conveniently located. We would for sure stay again. Literally at the base of a beautiful cliff. Very close to the walking path up to one of the monasteries.
Good communication, detailed and accurate directions, house exactly as described, great location, right next to the trail. Perfect to visit Meteora. Views from the house incredible. Hose was clean and well maintained. Cats are extra and super friendly.
For a unique stay, Rock and Stone is it! Clean and updated so perfectly to fit it with the stone house and area, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our young adult sons loved the house the nearby hiking, my husband and I loved the local people, the town, and the views. The owner/manager was quick to respond and answer any questions. Highly recommend!
This home is exactly as pictured. It is charming and check-in was a breeze. The location was great. Very close to the hiking/walking path to start out hiking trek to the monasteries. This home is well lit up, at night and easy to find. We hope to return someday and I'll definitely try to stay at The Rock and Stone home, again!
From my interactions with the owner to the home and the breathtaking views from the property— our stay at Rock and Stone was wonderful. It was comfortable had everything we needed and was very close to one of the trails to the monasteries. We enjoyed cooking at the house as well as walking into town. An excellent and memorable experience. I highly recommend it!!
Our stay at rock and stone was incredible! The property is gorgeous and the location can not be beat. Would gladly stay here again if I’m ever back in the area.

Our family of 5 spent one night at this lovely home, and wish we could have stayed longer. Everything about the place was perfect, and we can highly recommend it to others.
My family of 4 LOVED our stay at Rock & Stone and our visit to Kalabaka / Meteora! The house is beautiful, unique, and cozy...and just a few steps away from the path up to the Holy Trinity Monastery. We were able to easily walk into town as well and spent both evenings enjoying our view from the table in the courtyard. This was EXACTLY what I had wanted for our visit to Meteora. Thank you for such a truly beautiful experience!!
We had an amazing time staying in Kalabaka at the Rock and Stone. It was easy to find, easy to access and beautiful yard to sit and enjoy morning coffee or evening drinks looking into a small gouge. The short walk down into downtown gave us ample cat sightings and more than enough choices of excellent food.
The monasteries are a must!!!
This house is located at the northern end of Metaora about 400m from the Church of the Annunciation (10th century) and about 300m from a trail that leads to the Holy Trinity and St. Stephen's Monasteries. This was a great place for our family to stay during our visit to Metaora. It was quiet, well furnished and in a great location.
This accommodation really is unique - thick stone walls and lots of out door space. It is quite dark inside - you need the lights on in the day time down stairs. Location wise, it's great - about a 15 min walk from the bus stop and you can get on the trail to the various monasteries in minutes. Lots of local, excellent taverns and supermarkets - the kitchen is adequately equipped though there's quite a lot of clutter in terms of dishes / cups. We stayed 4 nights which allowed us time to just soak up the atmosphere as well as visit the monasteries when there weren't too many people about. Info about arrival was all very clear.
We loved this place. It was huge… and a yard… and quiet… the furniture and decor were so beautiful we wish we could replicate some of it at home. Love having a bathtub as an option to shower - thank you! Spacious! Towel heater racks weren’t used, but nice to have (bet that is great in the winter!). So many dishes and small appliances for cooking. I was worried about walking to town since we didn’t rent a car, but it wasn’t that far actually - and great restaurants so acceptable (and host left info on a place that delivers breakfast foods - didn’t use because we had morning tours, but nice to know it was available). And so stunning to look up and see Meteora right in “your backyard”. Hope to return some day for a longer stay.
Wonderful communication, easy solo check-in, very clean, charming details that make the house feel loved and uniquely decorated, amazing location, all amenities there for everything you might need. I saw one review (a really good one) about this rental which mentioned that there wasn’t enough hot water. All one has to do is turn on the water heater before using the shower and turn off after. This is standard all across Greece and the same goes for this home. Nothing unordinary about that. In fact I wish every country did this). The owner is very sweet. Can’t wait to come back. Five stars all the way!
This cute house was nice for our visit to the monasteries. The location and outdoor space was beautiful. The home was unique and exactly what we were looking for to experience the local culture. Driving in the town was a bit of an experience for us as Americans since the roads are very narrow, but we figured it out. We loved that there was a washing machine and drying rack in the house. The kitchen was functional and we could make breakfast in the mornings. Just as a heads up that there are no spices or oil for cooking, which was fine for us. There are two parking spots and an outdoor patio table set. Plenty of blankets for use. Air conditioning worked really well. Communication with property for check in was easy. Views of the monasteries from the house add to the ambiance. There is a trail up to Holy Trinity that starts near the house (you can see it on google maps) and takes 35-40 minutes to climb. Very happy with this rental experience.
