An excellent clean, quiet and well-maintaine hotel
We found the hotel very cossey with excellent service and friendly staff. Very spacious and very well-maintained room and bathroom. Excellent restaurants nearby. A parking in the hotel (under) very important. Central however very quiet. Very good and well-maintained pool. An excellent hotel.

I liked the location, beautiful area, but the inside of the room didn’t give me the feeling of an old historic building; decorated more in the modern side. The taxi drivers were refusing to take us to the hotel from the port which was something very inconvenient. The driver that picked us up from where the taxi left us was very helpful, but the staff otherwise not very friendly.

Beautiful historical building. Super-friendly staff. However, the room was tiny composed of a lower level tiny living room with ac and an upper level bedroom with no ac. Was pretty hot upstairs even with ac running 24/7. Pricey.

We loved Despotiko hotel, the area was lovely , the room was cozy, and the breakfast was nice. The only thing we didn’t liked was the bed that was a bit sinking.

Really impressed with this hotel! All covid precautions in place and being adhered to. Collection of three/four buildings set around a stunning courtyard, all of which has been slowly transferred into a hotel over time. All uniquely designed rooms, ours was contemporary but suited the property well. Fireplace in situ for cold nights, great bathroom, super comfy bed. Excellent pool area. Breakfast very busy on Sunday but food was super for this type of boutique establishment. Found the staff to be incredibly warm and friendly. Would come here again without a doubt. Free Parking in a secure underground car park, a huge bonus too!!

Lovely 3 days of relaxation
Lovely hotel, great staff with a really welcoming approach. We loved the area, the village was small with a few really good places to eat. The hotel had everything you need for a relaxing stay. Breakfast was good although the coffee was a bit of a miss or hit. My only (minor) criticism, is that access by car is very tight, we ended up leaving ours in the village car park, which was not a problem but meant you had a hilly 10 minute walk.

Excellent winter weekend destination
It was a weekend for celebration. The hotel gave us all what we needed, comfortable room, nice relaxed lobby with fireplace and comfortable sofas. We appreciated the wine recommendation from the staff and most of all the quality food in the adjacent “gefsikratoras” restaurant. We would gladly come back.

A very interesting area and facility. Ours was a short overnight stay, but very pleasant and enjoyable. Breakfast offering was substantial and we enjoyed a sunny, outside setting. Good value for the money.

The village and view were very picturesque. The hotel and pool are slightly less grand than they appear on the pictures, but the family room with two double bed was great for two friends sharing, but would be cramped for a whole family.

A great place in Portaria
We stay at this great place for 3 nights. Hotel is rather new. Very clean. We took a family room that has 2 double bed (one is at the attic). Breakfast is very good, lots of options. The pool is nice, the kids loved it. Only downside of this hotel is the narrow path that leads to it, but once you do it once, it's OK. I would get back to this place for sure. Portrait is a great place to stay. Many options to have lunch or dinner and also cafe with great deserts.

Don't miss this gem!
The hotel was very impressive and we all loved it. We had a family style room with an upstairs loft, which was not as well ventilated as downstairs but was otherwise very comfortable. Our view over the pool and the bay below was gorgeous. It's a little nerve-wracking driving up to the hotel as the old stone pathway is very narrow indeed, as well as being steep, but luckily there is an ample parking garage once you get there. Breakfast was a fantastic spread and service was wonderful! There were not many places to eat in the immediate area but we enjoyed heading up to Makrinitsa for dinner. We would definitely stay here again!

Great views over Volos!
What a gem . . . Superb views and very quiet. Some restaurants in the area, A wonderful retreat in the hills. Car parking is available, but roads leading to the hotel are very, very narrow. We needed to ask directions to find the hotel although we did see signs. Try to arrive in daylight. We will revisit next time we’re in the area.

The hotel is very nice. Everything is good except it is very hard to get to the parking area. There is a very narrow and steep alley to drive through. I would suggest that the hotel reserved another parking area for guests then provides small shuttle (like golf course) service.

Amazing location, great price, decent breakfast, average accommodations, but served our needs as it was booked at the last second. We selected a non-smoking room, but it was evident that someone smoked there before we arrived. We called room service to make a change, but nothing available. Seems they attempted to mask the odor the following day.
