Kahaluu stunner!

You can’t beat the view from the lanai off this sweet house. Set up was perfect for any excursion or just relax and enjoy right there in the pool. Close to shopping, lots of room wot the entire family, and real chill vibe. Would stay again.

This beautiful home has a spacious living area including a large lanai with a view of the ocean. Beautifully furnished with all the comforts of home. It's in a lovely quiet neighborhood which is close to great beaches and restaurants.

Perfect Family Home

As a family of four with two teens this home was spacious, comfortable and had everything you need to be self sufficient. The sunset views from the porch where wonderful and having the pool to swim in after a busy day of exploring was perfect. The location is well suited to accessing a variety of activities without any traffic noise. Would highly recommend this home!

Vacation rental with perfect spot

It was a great place to stay with an magnuficent view of the ocean all day long from the laina! The kitchen was well equipped and plenty of space to cook your own meal or prepare snack! The experience of the interiors was higher than expected and we really enjoyed the stay here! We didn’t use the pool since beaches is close by and you would benefit by a rental car that we had and you can go on trips every day! I would highly recommend this place!

Great open air condo!

The views from this place are amazing. A great location and neighborhood. Everything and more you could need in the place as well! This is an open air condo (no ac)- I didn’t realize when I first rented it but it was still quite comfortable when it cooled down at night. We loved the pool and had a great stay. I recommend this place to anything staying in Kona !

Nice condo

Very nice and spacious apartment. We especially liked the large panoramic window and the veranda with direct sea view. Here we could watch beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The pool is also nice, but had a lot of sand and leaves on the bottom. Depending on how many tenants were there before us, this can happen. Overall, however, it could have been a bit dust-free for us. Due to the open rooms and many windows, the dust spreads quite quickly, but on arrival we didn't have the feeling that there was Dunst wiped beforehand. Everything else (bathroom and kitchen surfaces) was clean. Unfortunately, you can see from some of the kitchen utensils that not all previous tenants take good care of things. But that's not Bill's fault as the host. Bill was very polite in direct contact and responded quickly to requests. Thank you very much for letting us be your guests.

Decent stay but quite a few cons

This unit has so much potential to be a 5 star option but it does need alot of updates. Several things need replaced: queen mattress (very worn in/sags), blinds (doesn’t have a good working mechanism to open/shut in main bedroom), screen doors (easily come off the tracks, a bit difficult to slide open/close, gaps that allow bugs in), pillows. We loved the layout, the open living room with wall to wall patio doors was beautiful. It did get very hot during the day but cooled off throughout the night with all the windows and doors open. With that did come a lot of noise so just be advised if traveling with sensitive sleepers or young children. Birds were pretty standard alarm clocks at 6am sharp and the neighbors to the back were a bit loud. Multiple vehicles coming and going including a motorcycle that revved loudly early most mornings. The host was great at staying in touch and answering questions that arose. The shower head broke during our stay and it was replaced very quickly.We enjoyed the pool, no complaints. We appreciated the items by the pool that were available to borrow, such as the boogie boards and beach chairs but it did seem like most of the items like that had been left behind by other guests and several things were broken. Would have appreciated a few things that were lacking such as a water filter jug in the fridge, tissues, Clorox wipes for counters after cooking, additional toilet paper. Loved being able to do laundry.

Disappointing and Uncomfortable Stay

The rental location was convenient for beach access, and the ocean views were stunning. However, the unit we got differed from the one pictured in the listing. The rooms had open ceilings, providing no privacy as sounds carried easily, including from the bathroom. The living room's panoramic ocean view lacked blinds, making us feel very exposed at night. With no air conditioning, we had to leave patio doors open to stay cool, leading to noise from neighboring units and mosquito bites due to broken screen doors. The property wasn't as clean as expected, with dust caked on vents, under the beds, on wall tops, and furniture. There were cobwebs and spiders in the bedroom closets. The floor was dirty; we didn’t wear our shoes in the unit, and our feet would be black from walking around. The vent above the stove was greasy, and the shower had mold and mildew. Only the inside of the refrigerator and countertops seemed clean. Many parts of the property were also neglected. The walls had several holes, the bed frames were unstable, the headboards moved, and the mattresses were uneven. Broken blinds in the queen bedroom eliminated any semblance of privacy we had left. The old, low-flow toilet required at least 10 seconds to flush. The most concerning issue we encountered was the deteriorating railing and baluster on the south side of the patio, posing a considerable safety risk for small children. Had our stay in the area been longer, we would have sought alternate accommodations.

Great views from the top floor space! 10 min walk to magic sands beach the pool looked nice but we didn’t try it out (too chilly for us in January). Only complaint was that the afternoon sun made it HOT in the evenings with no shades in the massive windows. Word of caution, the room walls don’t go to the ceiling so it can be loud, and at night any light on will keep the whole place lit up. Overall it was a great place to spend a few days on the Kona side.

This house is fun and in a great location with a local islander vibe. Fantastic view from the third story lanai and beautiful cooling ocean breezes whisping through this uniquely designed cutie ( of course when you open the wall of doors). We lacked for nothing onsite. Everthing was easy and in good shape. We particularly appreciated that usable, unopened food could be left for the local food bank. Nice touch! Communication was also lightning fast. Aloha!
On the Rocks: great beach bar with happy hour, and live music with Hula. A gorgeous public beach is also close.

The place is very well organized with dishes and everything you need. The location is great and the view from the balcony is breathtaking! A couple of things to note are that there's no AC in the unit and the fans are just not enough, the mattresses are sinking, and the walls don't get all the way to the ceiling which means that every time someone turns on the light somewhere, even in the hallway outside your unit, you have light where you sleep. The bathroom main door didn't have a lock. We also found unusual the owner's request to strip the linen and start a load of washing machine as part of the checkout procedure, especially in light of the cleaning fees which were already included in the price. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Check in/out were easy, location was excellent, space was great, price was good, and host was responsive. Really everything was good except there were bugs. This just may be expected with breezy oceanfront properties that aren’t new, but we had small gnats and ants and caught a cockroach.

This was a great property for our short stay. It is close to Ali'i Drive which can be loud at times but is mostly good. Convenient to get to restaurants and snorkeling and farmers markets in Kona. The pool was lovely especially when it is hot because the upstairs unit does not have AC. I did not find the living room furniture comfortable but the rest of our party did. And the top floor does not have walls that go all the way up to the ceiling so if someone is in the entry way for the downstairs unit you can hear them. The location was good, the kitchen had what we needed. It is an upstairs unit though so there are a number of stairs to climb and that should be considered if you are looking for this unit to stay in.

The pictures of the property are not accurate of the top unit. The pics are of the 2nd floor unit. In the top unit, there are no floor to ceiling walls, so there is no privacy in bedrooms. All though the place has 3 lanai glass doors the view is of 2 houses in the front, which means those 2 houses have a clear view of the inside of the top view because there are no curtains.

Laundry within unit, spacious layout, large shared bathroom, kitchen is well equipped & large wrap around deck. Kona is known for sugar ants on counters and geckos - which didn’t deter us, you just have to be mindful not to leave food on countertops. Dishes in cabinets I was mindful to wash before use. The sound from the unit below was a little issue - the renters below had a child screaming and slamming their door in the shared staircase on multiple occasions. Which the shared staircase and the master bedroom wall are adjoining and open above. We opened our door to check on the said screaming child in the staircase below. The pool deck was in need of a power wash and pool cleaning. We didn’t use those amenities during our stay. Parking is limited to 1 stall for the unit but it’s easy parking in front of the garage door.
