As soon as you arrive to our very private top floor ocean front condo located on the romantic coastline of the Island of Hawaii you will begin to realize a sense of calm and comfort. Whether you spend your days relaxing on the private lanai soaking in the amazing sights and sounds unfolding before you, or, heading out for the day to explore all the sights and adventures of the Island of Hawaii, you will feel right at home. Our top floor (4th floor) condo lanai is less than 25 feet from the water allowing you to take in all the stimulating sights while enjoying the warm tropical breezes and the soothing sounds of the surf from the comfort of two relaxing lounge chairs in ultimate privacy. The ocean panorama before you offers up spinner dolphins making their daily trek up and down the coastline, surfers riding the waves, ocean canoes paddling by, schools of fish, and turtles sunning along the shoreline. During the winter months Humpback whales frequent the waters and can be enjoyed from the comfort of the lanai. Kona Reef Resort is only a short 5-10 minute walk to the water front historic village of Kailua-Kona, you'll find yourself strolling down Alii drive along the sea wall next to the crystal clear Pacific Ocean. The views from Kona Reef Resort are outstanding and this was our second stay on the property. James and Kena have done an amazing job with this condo - so many new updates. This is probably the best equipped condo we've ever stayed in. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals as we prefer to eat in most days and enjoy the sunsets from the lanai. The place is a very well stocked rental unit, from bathroom to kitchen (other than salad spinner, LOL) to beach equipment. Communication and directions were very clear and there is a helpful homemade binder with local information. The pool is nice and there is a small beach about a 5 minute walk away. Easy walking distance to all the downtown restaurants, galleries, and shops. We stayed 8 nights and saw dolphins from the lovely balcony on half of those days (early morning). You can't beat the panoramic oceanfront view from the lanai .. absolutely stunning. The Kona Reef property is well maintained and conveniently located to drive anywhere around the island. We ventured out to Volcano National Park, booked snorkel boats, a manta adventure, and visited numerous historic sites, beautiful beaches and a classic luau. The condo is also within walking distance to many popular restaurants, and we enjoyed several sunset dinners nearby. The owners take pride in keeping the unit in good condition and well equipped with everything you need to be comfortable and enjoy your stay. We're glad to recommend it to anyone for a fun vacation. Schools of reef fish, dolphins and occasionally turtles can be seen while eating breakfast on the lanai. The condo is clean. well appointed, and the amenities are kept in good shape. Great location, the view view was amazing, the furnishings were very comfortable (including brand new high quality bed/mattress) and the property was spotless. We didn’t cook but the kitchen seemed to have all the basics and more. The lanai has great loungers and a dining set - perfect for reading , eating or whale and dolphin watching, We also loved that the property wasn’t cluttered, it didn’t have the decades of family cast offs that one often finds in every nook and cranny of a rental.
