The pictures don't lie: you have probably never been in a private home with views like these, and they are yours to enjoy from the pool, the spa, the den, both dining areas, the bedrooms, the lanais… you get the idea. Lots of glass here: it's floor to ceiling in most of the house. Connoisseurs of eye candy, fanatics for light and space, welcome! You're home. The property is surrounded by gorgeous tropical vegetation (see photos), lovingly tended since 1992 by one of the Big Island's most renowned landscapers, Dwayne Richmond. There aren't many better ways to start a day than having your coffee on one of the garden benches, surrounded by Dwayne's handiwork. (The vegetation isn't just pleasing to the eye; it also provides privacy, and a lot of it.) If it's raining, or if you just want a different perspective, sip your java while taking in the amazing treehouse view from the upstairs lanais- it's awesome. To minimize GMH's carbon footprint, most of our electricity comes from the PV panels on the roof. Power is stored in an Enphase battery array- the first in the state of Hawaii. There's never an extra fee for using the air conditioning at GMH. Each of the four bedrooms has its own private bathroom, independent air conditioning, ceiling fan, king size bed, and high def t.v. There is a Jacuzzi in the north upstairs bathroom. Returning (and hopefully future) guests might notice the new quartzite pool deck and new tiling on the upstairs lanais. These recent (2026) major renovations, along with a general sprucing-up of the property (both interior and exterior) were important steps to allow us to maintain the beauty and functionality which are GMH's trademarks. Go ahead and revel in the privacy that is one of GMH's trademarks, but don't worry about feeling too isolated. The common area of the house is basically one big, open room, cooled by breeze or AC, which looks out on the Pacific. Here, you and your family and friends feel connected to the ocean and the sky, and to each other. The pool (70 feet long) and spa both face the ocean: same incredible view you have from the inside, only now there's sky over your head. Sitting in the spa with loved ones, beverage in hand, watching the sun drop into the Pacific… don't be surprised if you get a little teary. I know I do. Convenience comes with the territory at GMH. Keauhou Shopping Center, with its supermarket, drug store, good restaurants, shops, and urgent care clinic is four minutes away. It's 15 minutes to the town of Kailua-Kona, with its many attractions. Great snorkeling and surfing lessons are six minutes away at Kahalu'u Beach Park. It's nine minutes to beautiful La'aloa (White Sands) Beach. Various famous coffee plantations are 20 minutes away. Excellent walking (with spectacular views, of course) is right outside the front door on the immaculate sidewalks and streets of gorgeous Keauhou Estates. Finally, for those of you who plan to use GMH as a home base for longer excursions, your host would like to provide you with some templates for full-day and half-day trips from the house. These are only suggestions, made available just in case you suffer from the “so many destinations, so little time” syndrome, and are feeling a bit overwhelmed. If you have an interest, please remember to ask for the booklet called “Rob's Road Trips, Restaurants, and Snorkel Spots” when you reserve the property. Comfortable house and private retreat. The view is incredible and wonderful place to watch sunsets. Lots of privacy inside and out! The furniture and beds were super comfortable. Home is a bit outdated and needs to be updated. Cleaning is done poorly but it’s Hawaii and their standard of clean is a bit different so we understand, sticky floors and counters and can’t walk barefoot because you will need pedicure the next day ☺️. We had the best stay at this property! The views throughout the home are second to none. It is the perfect place to lounge around the pool, with loungers, chairs and pool floaties available. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils/appliances. The neighborhood is beautiful and we enjoyed our daily morning walks. It is about 15 away from Kona, however, there is a supermarket and some shops & restaurants that are even closer and more convenient. Management was very responsive - we had trouble with the AC units and a technician was sent the next morning. We absolutely loved this property and would stay here again in a heartbeat! That said a few updates would be helpful like outlets near the beds for modern devices, the dishwasher works but seems like its making its last stand; and the main tv dies not support modern streaming apps Little things really the home is spacious and beautiful and the views- yes make your jaws drop:) Finally property mgmt was attentive and helpful throughout 🙏 ##### Dan O. Even the outside area allows for space but togetherness. We all had a great time swimming & playing corn hole. There are views from almost every room in this home. I loved watching the sunset while making my evening cocktail at the wet bar in the upstairs bedroom. There is a coffee pot upstairs also which allows for a little wake up time out on your own balcony before joining the group downstairs. Kona Coast Vacations did a really good job of accommodating us & checking in to be sure that our stay was enjoyable. We all had a wonderful stay & will definitely be returning. ##### Teryle F. Thank you to the home owner who opened up this fantastic home for us to enjoy! This house is amazing. It's so spacious and gorgeous that we didn't want to leave. It's well appointed and very well taken care of. The artwork is interesting and tasteful, wood floors are beautiful and we were thankful for the air conditioners. The pool and the hot tub were so wonderful we never even bothered to head to the beach. Don't pack a lot because you won't want to leave the house and the washer and dryer are super handy! The listing was accurate and the house was clean and well-maintained. Kona Coast Vacations was helpful the couple of times I called them to ask questions. We had no issues at all with this home and will definitely stay here again! We usually stay at the Fairmont Orchid so we aren't very familiar with this part of the island, but try Lava Java in Kailua-Kona. We enjoyed dining there a couple of times! ##### teresa h. Tucked away in a secure neighborhood, this vacation home was a perfect sanctuary for our group of four couples. With breathtaking views and a stunning pool, it provided an unforgettable experience. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the mesmerizing vistas. Perched atop a hill, we were treated to panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and lush surroundings. Each sunset painted the sky with vibrant colors, reflecting beautifully in the azure waters. Waking up to such natural beauty was a true blessing. The house itself exuded comfort and luxury. With its spacious layout, we had both privacy and ample space to spend quality time together. The bedrooms were elegant havens for relaxation. The house is just south Kailua-Kona and convenient to Keahou shopping center. The property management team was communicative and helped prepare us for a wonderful vacation but also very non-intrusive. They did a a great job of making our stay enjoyable. ##### Greg C. The property management company did have the Problem fixed - AFTER FIVE DAYS! For this major inconvenience we were refunded one-half of one nights stay and we were directed to reread the rental contract when we said we were unsatified with the refund amount. Less of an issue but still VERY annoying is that none of the photos show the giant hose you are required to leave floating in the pool during your stay as this is the only filtration system for the pool. It still doesn't get clean; so be prepared to scoop out all the bugs and frogs that will greet you in the morning. This property is great if you like icy showers and a dirty pool at a premium price.
