Immerse yourself in a carefully curated desert landscape and surrounding beauty. Stargaze while soaking in our HOT TUB. Enjoy fun times in the GAME ROOM with POOL TABLE, DARTS, CORN HOLE + more. Only a few quick minutes from the Joshua Tree National Park entrance! Our house is a perfect blend of Boho & California Sophistication with Mexican Saltillo terra cotta tile floors, white walls, raw pine accents with rugs, pillows, music and art to provide texture. The living areas includes a wood burning stove insert, stereo, 2 turntables, LPs, HD TV, books and games. The kitchen & dining room are outfitted for unforgettable indoor meal in our dining room, or al fresco dinners on the patio under the market lights. The bedrooms are large, with hotel-quality linens and comfy mattresses. Reading desks, board games, yoga mats, lounging chairs and quiet nooks abound. For those who choose to be connected, we have Starlink high speed internet and a 50" smart TV with your favorite apps. There are also smart TV's in the primary and second bedrooms. Amenities include: \- Ranch Style home with accommodation for 6 \- 2/3 bedrooms, 2 full baths. 1 King bed in the larger primary bedroom, a Queen in bedroom #2, and a Queen bed in the bedroom #3/Sunroom. \-HOT TUB under the stars for your enjoyment \- Gorgeous backyard with outdoor dining area, BBQ, lounge furniture, etc. Romantic, tranquil and fun (oh, and those views!). You'll be able to access all of the living areas of the home inside and out. In the garage/game room, there are maintenance items in the locked cabinets and behind the fabric curtains. Please do not access these areas. Our place is located in Panorama Heights neighborhood of Joshua Tree, California, United States, adjacent to Joshua Tree National Park. Our neighborhood is perfectly situated to enjoy all that the High Desert has to offer. Our 2.5 acre property offers hiking possibilities. Joshua Tree National Park Visitors Center is less than 8 minutes away and we are 25 minutes from Pioneertown and Pappy & Harriets. Car or SUV is the best way to get around the area. The roads leading up to the The Outpost are unpaved but a 4WD is not necessary. It's also a great neighborhood for a stroll or hikes. CLOSEST AIRPORTS Palm Springs, CA (PSP) – 40 mins Ontario, CA (ONT) – 1 hour 30 mins Los Angeles, CA (LAX) – 2 hours 30 mins, San Diego, CA (SAN) – 2 hours 40 mins Maximum Number of Occupants: 6 Maximum Number of Vehicles Parked: 4 Pets: Up to (2) dogs are allowed with $50 Pet Fee. Additional dogs or other animals need to be approved in advance by the host. Guests are responsible for any damages caused by their pets. Please relieve your pets at least 100ft from the house and landscaping. Please clean up after them as well. Trash: Our trash dumpster is on the street above the house. It is the BURTEC dumpster, located on the south side of Bolsa Ave on our side of the street. Notification of Failure to Comply: Failure to comply with parking and occupancy standards, as well as public and private nuisance standards is a violation of County Code and that such violation may result in enforcement actions to address the violation. We have a number of law enforcement officials that live in the area, and are sensitive to noise level. Please keep that in mind and maintain the beauty and solitude of this special neighborhood!! Utility Disconnect: Water: Water shut off is in the valve box on the south side of the property. Wrench for turning off water is located in drawer in kitchen. Electricity: Power shut off is at electrical panel outside next to the front door. Emergency Medical and Police: Medical: High Desert Medical Center, 6601 White Feather Rd., Joshua Tree Police: 911 HOUSE INFORMATION, RULES & CHECK OUT INFO: Rules: While most guests are respectful and wonderful to host, we do have a small percentage that have not treated the house and their surroundings with respect. We only state these rules because we have not, not because we want to. Doors and Screens: Please keep doors and screens closed so animals and bugs don’t get in. Hot Tub: Hot tub is set at 85-90 degrees. It normally takes about 45 minutes to an hour to get to 100 degrees with the cover on, during the winter it may take longer. In the winter, please set the temperature at 100 degrees a few hours before use. It takes much longer to heat with the cover off, so we suggest that you leave it on whenever it’s not in use. Please set the temperature back to 85 before you check out. Garage/ Game Room: The garage code is the same as your door code. We are in the process of converting the garage to an ultimate game room. In it you will find a pool table, dartboard and corn hole. Patio and lounge cushions are stored in the garage as well. The garage also has a washer and dryer that is accessible to guests. Outdoor Lighting: The outdoor (dark sky friendly) string and dining area lights are controlled by the remote hanging next to the fridge. Please leave the remote hanging in the house. Furniture: Please do not move any large furniture such as sofas, dining tables, beds, etc. This is only here because it happens more often than it should. Outdoor Noise: We love our neighbors – please be respectful of their space, and their privacy. No music outdoors in the evenings. Please be aware that we have a number of law enforcement officials that live in this area that are sensitive to noise level. Please keep that in mind. Extra Guests and Parties: Outside guests and parties are strictly prohibited at all times. The county is cracking down on short term rentals hosting parties and we want to be respectful of our neighbors. If you break this rule, there will be a $5,000.00 fine. Smoking: There is NO SMOKING OR VAPING within the residence or within 10 feet of the residence. Other Items: Careful not to overload the toilets as they can plug up if too much is put in at once—we have a sensitive septic system. Wipes and feminine products need to go in the trash. Guests will be charged if a plumber has to be called. CHECK OUT BEFORE 10:00AM CHECK OUT PROCEDURE: • Place the trash from the house and game room into the dumpster. • Put dirty dishes in the dishwasher and start it. • Set hot tub back to 85 degrees and ensure it is covered. • All items that came from the sunroom and garage must be returns. • Please ensure that the garage is locked. • If sleeper sofas were used, please leave them open for cleaning crew to wash linens. • Please make sure when locking up the house that all windows and doors are locked, curtains and blinds are closed tight. • Turn off all lights expect for the entry way light, which is on a motion sensor. • Exit via the front door and press the Yale logo to lock it. The person accepting the rental agreement is the responsible party. As well as initial entry in to the house and locking up the house upon departure. First, the house was spotless and well maintained. There are many places to sit outside, which allows for different light and views. Wildlife is common, from small lizards to jackrabbits, coyotes, and once we caught a glimpse of a bobcat passing by. We feel safe there, and the house is really comfortable. The location is good, outside the main part of town, but still close to JT. It also makes it easy to head toward 29 Palms park entrance if the line to get into the park is long in JT. Brought my husband here for a quiet getaway for his 70th birthday and it was the most amazing setting and so peaceful! The house was in a good location and clean. Bathrooms could be updated and where the pull out sofa is could use curtains or shutters as it’s not ideal for someone to sleep. The grounds are immaculate, well landscaped, beautiful sunrise and sunset views, and the property was spotless. Check out was easy, instructions very clear for everything. This house also had more household amenities than other properties we have stayed at-trash bags, shampoo/conditioner/soap, dish soap, basic spices, laundry detergent. This property was phenomenal; immaculately clean, excellently appointed, and convenient location with plenty of privacy! Nice cookware, wonderful linens, million dollar views in a safe, friendly neighborhood (I was totally comfortable walking by myself for miles). Colin was immediately responsive to any questions we had and was so helpful and welcoming. Check in was a breeze, check out instructions were simple, and the home is even more amazing than advertised! Of note, the reference to distance from the park is as the crow flies. To walk to the national park on the roads is more like a mile and to go through an entrance station you’ll have to drive about 15 min, but it’s a short east commute and well worth it. Wanted a few quiet days around Joshua Tree and fell in love with this place as soon as we saw it on VRBO. As beautiful as the pictures were, they in no way captured the true essence of The Outpost... its serenity. Rarely would you hear any noise other than the birds, we spent a lot of time just wandering around the yard and neighborhood admiring the various plant life & other unique houses. Of course, the hot tub was a true delight (wish there had been more stars, sigh). Our only complaint was that the 2nd bathroom is off the kitchen and not near the 2nd bedroom, making late night visits inconvenient. Not a big deal, just wanted to mention it. A really comfortable and well appointed house. We especially loved the sun room, where we could sit on the sofa and watch wildlife. There are several outdoor sitting areas as well, so we could pick and choose our view. We saw a roadrunner hunting, 3 jackrabbits hanging out, lots of quail, small lizards skittering around, a coyote trotting down the road. The setting is incredible and the property takes full advantage of it. The views are spectacular. Collin has paid attention to every detail and from the moment you walk in the front door you feel welcome and comfortable. The home was spotless on arrival and the AC was set to ensure it was cool after our drive. We were there during a heatwave and at no time were we uncomfortable, as the AC and fans throughout kept us cool. The kitchen is fully equipped with literally everything, and it is all in tip-top condition, as is the rest of the home. The entire property clearly shows the owner’s love for the property and attention to details to make your stay special. We enjoyed the hot tub under the stars and meals al fresco on the patio watching the local wildlife cross the property. We caught the sunsets in the comfy chairs out front. The desert light at sunset turns everything such an amazing color of gold. All that and comfy beds too! We hope to return soon, we came back home so relaxed. Our stay was perfect! ##### L. L.
