"This is a beautiful gite in rural Charente-Maritime. It's close to some really pretty towns and to a number of excellent swimming lakes. We are family of six (grandparents, parents, two children) and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor space for all of us. It's really child-friendly with exclusive use of the pool, ping-pong table and a wide variety of games and toys. "We loved the feeling of this place, as soon as we drove up the driveway. Everything about it was beautiful and I actually cried on the day we had to leave..... The accommodation was perfect for the three of us, me, my Husband and our Hungarian Vizsla, Hudson. We enjoyed the pool, walks around the stunning grounds, the views, the river access...... We even stayed an extra night, of which the hosts were great! We'll be re-booking again soon. So glad we found this unique little sanctuary of peace...

"Ted and Reit were fantastic hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they went out of their way to make us welcome. The apartment was clean, comfortable and in a quiet location whilst easy to get to the local town and to Cognac. "Our stay at Robert’s house far exceeded our expectations. The house is truly beautiful and it was well equipped for our large party. The pool area was a welcome relief from the heat and the shaded area meant we could use it even at the hottest part of the day. There are many beautiful towns around but the house was so nice we found it hard to leave! Robert was a pleasure to deal with and he made a point of not being intrusive but was always available if we needed him. I would have no hesitation...

"Wonderful Chateau in Cognac area. Probably 10,000 sq ft with large grounds and a pool. Enjoyed evenings in the courtyard enjoying local wines and during the days touring several of the small local cognac cellars."

"A most wonderful base to share with our generous and accommodating hosts, Richard and Marie. They helped advise on where to go and what to see, but also gave us plenty of space to just relax and be. An idyllic spot with a beautiful pool and garden, which was a treasure to come back to after our days out exploring the region. It was simply a perfect holiday for us both - thank you!"

"The property had many attributes. The property is situated close by vineyards and farmland. It had a lovely orchard where the children could play freely, pick plums and apples which were later turned into cakes and crumbles as well as having a really lovely swimming pool. As the weather was hot the children and adults used the pool daily and had a great deal of fun. It was an easy walk along a path beside fields of sunflowers and corn to reach the village Boulangerie each morning when it was...

"We had a great relaxing break at Emma’s cottage. The location is good with plenty of options for restaurants and places to visit. The pool is a real bonus and Emma is a fantastic host always on hand if we needed anything but never intrusive. We will definitely be coming back at some point in the future as we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Highly recommended place to stay"

"The Gite was spotless and comfortable. The garden was secure, large and level. Great for dogs and children. Very tranquil and lovely views. Great area for our bicycles! The only thing we missed was a sunbed. Hosts were pleasant and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would recommend the gite and location to anyone."

"We had a great week and this house, it’s a fantastic property well equipped for 3 families with 7 children all under the age of 13. The terrace and pool area were perfect for long, lazy lunches in the sunshine. We had a slight issue with the freezer that was dealt very promptly by the helpful and friendly owners. Would definitely recommend this as a place for friends and family for a get together."

"We have had a lovely week at this house. The pool and garden were great for children and we spent a lot of time relaxing and enjoying this space. The local host Lucy was super helpful and quick to address any queries/ minor issues we had. Lovely picturesque area to cycle around. Play and picnic area and tennis court a short walk/ bike ride from the house which was enjoyed by children. A great place to relax and unwind thank you 😊"

"We stayed for a night. The exterior looks a bit rundown but the apartments are great. Everything works, it’s well equipped and clean. There’s also an elevator which is a major plus. Daily continental breakfast for 11 euros - honestly it’s too expensive for what they serve. You have to bring down your trash upon check out and clean the kitchen if you used it. Overall a nice stay."
