There was constructoin going on, on the property. All door lock after hours so you cant leave the premises when you want to.

The rooms was perfect but the service at breakfast was not great. We got to the buffet and everything was almost finished the waiters were slow to refill the food. I asked one guy to bring me avocado and water to our table which never came.

An expensive mothersday breakfast.

We booked in for a Saturday night and all was good and in good order. The Sunday morning on MOTHERSDAY WE HAD TO SIT OUTSIDE IN THE COLD AND HAD A COLD BREAKFAST. There were too many people to serve breakfast in a place which is not the normal dining room were we had a buffet meal the previous evening. I was so p----- off that I just settled my bill and left. I THINK IT WAS A DISGRACE TO SAY THE LEAST OF IT.

Happy couple and doggie.

We were very happy. Check in was fast and efficient. Restaurant had very good food. Property was relaxing, pet friendly for our little doggie. All in all comfotable.

Perfect location for a quick restful getaway

Enjoyed my one night stay and wish I could have stayed longer. Was a restful sleep after a long day. The check in process was swift and I found the staff to be very polite, friendly and helpful. The location was great as was out of town so peaceful and quiet...but not remote. I was able to drive to the cradle trails (5kms) ans enjoy a 15km run along-side the cyclists and other runs. Riverstone is a perfect location for exploring all that the Cradle has to offer. The traditional english breakfast is just what I need to get me going for the rest of the day. I intend to visit again for longer and with family.

Easy improvements can be made

It was a relaxing break-away with picnic sites by the river under the beautiful Willow trees. The rooms are spacious, but can do with a bit of an upgrade. Our sliding door didn't close properly, which we couldn't accept due to the outside and road noise. We commend them on attending to it quite quickly, however we had to then wait before we could enter our room. We also had to request new towels as the ones provided smelled a little stale. The overall cleanliness are not up to a great standard and the room needed some maintenance and repairs. Nice, spacious rooms. But could not check in during evening. Key was passed on at gate upon arrival. Had to pay additional for coffee even though breakfast was included

Spacious, comfortable, nicely appointed rooms; restaurant has good selection in terms of food and beverage service which I enjoyed. Very friendly, helpful staff and owner who was hands-on present! I appreciate the flexibility shown when changes needed to be made to my reservation, which management agreed to and facilitated with Expedia. Value for money at this lodge. I will return if I ever need to be in the Johannesburg area.

Wifi and TV not up to international standards

Easy to find. Good sized open plan rooms. On check in said we still need to pay - which was incorrect. No fridge in room. You have to specifically book a room with a fridge if you want one. Wifi only worked if you sat in lounge next to reception and not a secure link. TV had limited number of number channels (100 in previous hotel) and many of them did not function properly (snow - fuzzy picture - background noise-etc). Staff very helpful but no real solution. Explanation was that it "would all be okay in a month or so when wifi upgrade installed as TV would be delivered by wifi". All well and good for when they get it done but no help for me. Staff all very kind and helpful.
