![The modernization of China has unfortunately seen many of its historical cities and landmarks destroyed. One that has been restored and untouched is the ancient walled city of Pingyao.  This was one of the few times the crowds of this beautiful city weren't overwhelming and i could take in the beauty and awe of this awesome sight

"Wonderful hotel set in an ancient mansion. Staff were helpful and friendly and focused on improving the guest experience. Wonderful breakfast whether you ordered Western or Chinese. We ate the special set menu dinner. Definitely the best restaurant in Pingyao. Staff had a proficient level of English which enabled us to have a better experience visiting the historical sights in the walled city. Our two night stay was a five star experience."

![The modernization of China has unfortunately seen many of its historical cities and landmarks destroyed. One that has been restored and untouched is the ancient walled city of Pingyao.  This was one of the few times the crowds of this beautiful city weren't overwhelming and i could take in the beauty and awe of this awesome sight

"The area was generally very dirty. The entrance to the hotel was being used as a shop for Chinese girls to get dressed up and having makeup. Hence it was as you were entering a small fitting room.
