This was a local homestay and to be honest we were a little worried at first when we booked it. But once we arrived, the owner met us at the door and was extremely friendly and helpful. She knows a little bit of english, but with my basic Chinese skills she was able to recommend several interesting locations throughout the island. The 2-bed room was large and clean, air conditioner worked great. They arranged scooters to be delivered to the front door and we left them there after we were done ($400NTD per day, per scooter). On our way to the airport, the owner even brought us to Maestro Wu's knife store and because we were with her, we received a small, free knife. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it for those with families. Only drawback is that the neighborhood is under construction so after about 7:30 in the morning there is construction equipment nearby.
