"I booked the hotel through Expedia, based on the photos I saw there. The reality is far from the actual photos. "Super endroit"

Santa Cruz Boutique Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Clean room. Very nice staff."

The Retreat

10/10 Excellent

Prassa 3 Boutique Hotel

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Janela?

The best area to stay in Janela is along the waterfront in the main town, particularly near the ferry port and the central square. This area is the heart of Janela, offering convenient access to local amenities and a relaxed atmosphere. You'll find a selection of guesthouses and small hotels here, many with views of the harbour and the ocean. The main street, which runs parallel to the waterfront, is where you'll find the most activity, including local eateries and shops.Couples looking for a tranquil getaway will find this area particularly appealing. The gentle pace of life, the sound of the waves, and the stunning sunsets over the water create a very romantic setting. You can enjoy strolls along the promenade or simply relax on a terrace watching the fishing boats. For those seeking a base for exploring the island, staying near the ferry port is incredibly practical.

When is the best time to go to Janela?

The best time to visit Janela, Cape Verde, is during the dry season, which runs from November to July.During these months, you'll experience consistently warm temperatures, averaging around 25-29°C (77-84°F), and minimal rainfall. This makes it ideal for enjoying Janela's beautiful beaches, such as the secluded Praia Formosa, and exploring the lush green valleys of Santo Antão without the interruption of heavy downpours. The drier conditions also make hiking the island's many trails, like the popular route from Cova to Paul Valley, much more pleasant, with clearer paths and stunning views.Couples looking for a relaxing and scenic getaway will find this period perfect. The calm seas are excellent for swimming and snorkelling around the volcanic coastline, and the consistent sunshine allows for uninterrupted enjoyment of outdoor dining and walks along the coast. The evenings remain comfortably warm, ideal for enjoying local cuisine in open-air restaurants. For solo travellers specifically interested in hiking and exploring the natural beauty of Santo Antão, the dry season offers the best conditions.
