Very nice and quiet, the water and lights goes out quite a bit here, always a low tide so swimming is not possible shoreline coved in sharped rocks, Paje is a much better area and magnificent beach please go there, not much here in blue moon.. very nice people here, if your looking for peace and quiet maybe then this blue moon is for you.

Relaxing Stay

We planned to stay at Blue Moon Resort for three nights but loved it so much that we extended our stay. The staff were friendly, hardworking, and welcoming. Check-in was simple, and we got a tour before heading to our private pool room, which was clean, spacious, and quiet. The pool was surrounded by large palm trees, making it incredibly relaxing to float and watch them sway. The room had a minibar, Netflix, and an Alexa station, and housekeeping cleaned it daily. A couple of minor issues: the wardrobe only had four hangers, which wasn’t enough, and the shower temperature fluctuated between hot and cold every 30 seconds. The restaurant overlooked the sea and served great food. I had local traditional meals, and one night, a BBQ buffet with live music created a lively atmosphere. Breakfast was à la carte, and the vegetarian option was excellent, with fresh avocado, stir-fried vegetables, and pineapple juice. The grounds were well-maintained and peaceful. We loved relaxing on the jetty and swimming in the warm, calm sea. The beach was rocky, but we visited a Maasai shop nearby. Bring cash (USD), as the card machine had issues. My wife had a reasonably priced full-body massage. The dogs and cats were tame, but a monkey on a lead seemed unfairly restricted.

Decent 4 star hotel.

The staff is great! Very friendly and service minded. They are the best about this place. The food is good but not amazing. Another issue regarding eating, is that there is no restaurant close by. We ended up using a taxi taking us to other places to eat. Expect bout 10 minutes by car to some good restaurants. One night the managed decided to get some things fixed, problem was that this was close to midnight and for about 1 hour there was a lot of noise when we wanted to sleep. I went to complain, the manager just said "sorry" and kept the workers continuing to make the noise. This is why I cannot give top rating. Another thing to be aware of, is that the water in the shower and fauset is salt water! So if this is an issue for you, you might consider other place to stay.

Overall, very satisfied with our stay at the Blue Moon Resort. We stayed for 9 nights in the suite with a private pool on a full board basis. On the first day, we arrived at 8:00 am. It was indeed early, but we had to wait until 3:00 pm. We were exhausted from a long trip. A hotel should be able to accommodate guests by noon, which is the norm. For a supposedly luxurious room, it felt a bit outdated. The wardrobe was very small, with doors that didn't close properly. The hotel really needs to implement a ventilation system, there's an unpleasant smell in the room and the bathroom... The positives of the hotel: it's extremely peaceful. Ideal for those seeking relaxation and a private beach with fewer people. The restaurant is à la carte. The dishes are delicious, fresh, high-quality, and presented very meticulously, something rarely seen in a full board hotel ! But hope you are patient, it takes 1.5 to 2 hours sometimes to have a meal because of the time taken for ordering and preparing the dishes. It's not a big deal in the evening, but it's inconvenient at noon when we want to make the most of their time. The music is perfect, classy and not disco ambiance ! (If that's what you're looking for, you should consider Nungwi's hotels). The hotel's cleanliness is impeccable. The staff is very attentive and truly cares about your comfort. We want to thank the staff for their kindness and responsiveness, with a special thanks to Swahiba! We will probably come back.

The place is fabulous, quite Weather is nice you can see all seasons in one day The resort is quite and nice There are some small details the resort need to consider like: 1- water in room .. 2 bottles for a day is not enough and shouldn’t be chargeable if I need more. 2- the need to install Shattaf in bathroom since many muslims visit this resort. 3- the water in the bathroom is salty 4- must provide tissue in the room

Blue Moon really went above our expectations and that very much thanks to all the staff! The resort in it self is stunning and located so you really get to relax and enjoy. The jetty was amazing and we spent a lot of time there, but everyone working from the front desk, to resturant, to managers and housekeeping was so warm and welcoming! It really made and impact! It was bittersweet leaving this place, but we will most definitely be back sooner than later.

Amazing resort, amazing facilities, amazing staff!

Our stay at Blue Moon Resort was something more than perfect. This place is a paradise on earth! The facilities are excellent, you can spend your whole day at the resort. The view to the ocean was marvelous, the rooms spacious and super clean. Also the staff was incredible they literally trying to make you feel like home and being super polite and friendly! I highly recommend this place for your vacation in Zanzibar.

Very good place to stay!!

The Resort was better then excepted. I recommend this place a lot for those who just want to have a good time to relax. Quiet place, and nice. Had only one problem with the electricity last night, but think that is fixed now. They have a lot to offer on activities for couple or families. One other thing is that they have a lot of hot water for shower. Have been in many places in Tanzania, but had little availability of hot water for shower. One thing is that the water had really salty taste.

This is going to be a lengthy one, however, if you are interested in staying at here, this will possibly be the only review that is need. For starters, the ride is about an hour and a half away from the airport, which we were aware of. The scenery is beautiful, roads are pretty bumpy but nontheless, it’s beautiful. Upon arrival to the hotel, we assumed we were being kidnapped because the hotel is in an alley on an extremely rocky road with absolutely nothing surrounding it besides trash & wild animals. We were even afraid to leave the van. However, once inside, the grounds are beautiful! Staff is amazing, pools are cleaned daily, food is great & the grounds are very clean. The 3 stars come in when we entered our room. If you are not a fan of insects, do NOT stay here. You will not sleep peacefully! After waking around the room to check things out, we came around tons of dead insects, termites were visibly chewing away at wooden baskets in the bathroom, you can see the wood dropping little by little, huge spiders & dead worms were on the sink, crickets were everywhere, we were killing insects & the robes were as hard as the wooden baskets. I decided to lay on the bed & read my kindle since it was pretty late & the pillows had tons of dead bugs on them. While reading my kindle, I felt something drop on my chest. It was a WORM! The ceilings are decorated with tree trucks and worms constantly fell from the ceiling. We stayed for 3 nights & I am still suffering from insomnia.

Wunderschönes Resort mit herausragendem Management Unser Aufenthalt im Blue Moon Resort begann leider nicht ganz so positiv, doch das änderte sich schnell, nachdem wir ein Gespräch mit dem jungen und äußerst ehrgeizigen Manager sowie dem Inhaber und seiner Frau führen konnten. Dieses Gespräch bleibt uns in sehr positiver Erinnerung, denn selten haben wir erlebt, dass sich jemand so sehr um die Bedürfnisse der Gäste kümmert. Der Manager zeigt ein beeindruckendes Engagement, und auch die Inhaberfamilie ist äußerst freundlich und macht deutlich, wie sehr ihnen das Resort am Herzen liegt. Wir haben unsere Flitterwochen hier verbracht und uns für das große Zimmer mit Innen- und Außenpool entschieden – eine Wahl, die wir jedem nur empfehlen können. Der Außenpool ist groß und hat die perfekte Tiefe, um sowohl zu entspannen als auch richtig zu schwimmen. Zudem wurde das gesamte Zimmer mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet, was sich unter anderem an der hochwertigen Musikanlage zeigt, die mit mehreren Lautsprechern verbunden ist und für ein tolles Klangerlebnis sorgt. Nach unserem etwas holprigen Start (der mit Mitarbeitern zu tun hatte, die mittlerweile nicht mehr dort arbeiten und daher nicht weiter thematisiert wird) konnten wir unsere Zeit in diesem traumhaft gelegenen Resort in vollen Zügen genießen. Die Kulisse ist atemberaubend, das Essen wird täglich frisch zubereitet und schmeckt hervorragend. Besonders gefallen hat uns das Freizeitangebot mit Jetskis, Kanus und Pedalos.
