horrible experience which should have refunded
One thing after another with issues. First on arrival, the rooms requested with extra bed were not ready, then both rooms very freezing cold and heater not working, repair guys came and 2 hours later it started to warm up now we got to bed at 2am.. then in the morning find out the hotel water is not working in our room so again repair guys come and fix so we can finally get ready. at breakfast and dinner, most of the staff seemingly didn't understand our requests and just politely say yes to things but then don't do it. Had I not prepaid via hotels.com and also it being very late, I would have asked for a refund and went somewhere else.

The hotel is beautiful. However, the rooms; the bed is not comfortable, bathrooms are old, the pillows are not good.

Disappointing Vilas Experience!
Overall the stay was a disappointment! We had a expectation of 5star service and all we got was 3 star experience! Starting from 2 hours delayed checkin, older room, empty mini bars refrigerators, poorly serviced restaurants due to untrained staff!! The hotels needs to seriously renovate its rooms and improve its service else it will surely loose it star rating!

Bad staff with no manners
My wife is not Indian and they asked for passports and visa without notifying us this requirement in advance. They denied to accept the booking and was no help with no apologies for inconvenience. Recommend FairMont instead of this hotel. FairMont staff was very cordial and good hotel. AVOID SHIV VILLAS HOTEL

Dear Mr. Naveen, Namaskar & Greetings from Shiv Vilas, Jaipur!!! I am very surprised to hear from you about your review and misrepresentation of our hotel. I apologize for the late reply as I was gathering all the facts which made you write all the nasty things about our hotel. Let me put the facts very straight and according to sequence. (1) You had booked 02 Rooms with us for 02 Nights from 26th Dec till 28th Dec 2017. (2) You checked in at 20:15 hrs. (3) Upon Check in, we asked you to provide us the Passport with Valid visa of your family, which you did not provided. (4) Upon many requests made by our Front Office team, a valid Identity card was not available with you. That was the reason we denied the Check in. (5) Also we never charged you for the room and offered you the Free Cancellation as a special case even when the Booking was Non Refundable. As per the Government regulations, we need to have a passport with Valid visa for the foreign nationals and Government issued valid ID cards for Indian nationals upon Check in. Please don't book this Hotel. You will be very disappointed. We were extremely disappointed right from the check-in till we check-out.

Hotel shiv villas
The service in this hotel was exquisite. The staff could not do enough for us. Whatever we needed was catered for boy smiling, helpful staff members. I have never stayed anywhere where the staff was so dedicated. The downside is the hotel is about 30 minute drive outside of Jaipur and hard to get in and out of town without a car and driver. There is nothing to do in the area surrounding the hotel. But if you want to be away from hustle and bustle this could be a good choice. Hotel is very plush, lots of marble which makes it seem a bit soulless at times but we were upgraded to a lovely suite and as I have said the staff could not do enough for us so it was a lovely stay.

Hotel staff not nice
The hotel isn't a true palace, it was build in 2006. The front desk staff is very unfriendly and unhelpful.

A bit disappointing
While the recently built hotel is made to look like an old palace, much of the rooms are dated. Our room had very poor lighting which made it difficult to read. Additionally, the hotel was nearly empty (in high season), which left for an eerie feeling and resulted in 2 of the 3 restaurants not being open. I would've expected more moderate prices, but they were charging taxi and dinner prices comparable with the Rambagh Palace (which is a real 5 star hotel). Please note that this hotel is a good 35 minutes from downtown Jaipur.

Positioned a fair distance from Town (travel time). Hotel was cold. Staff tried hard. Dissappointed with how dirty the place was. Pigeon poo everywhere. Beautiful gardens / pool area - but cant anyone see the pigeion poo. Quality of food at restaurant - ok. Dissappointing.

Luxurious Hotel
We extremely enjoyed our stay at Shiv Villas. The hotel is just beautiful, lovely swimming pool area. great for weddings or week-end getaways. Close to the Amer Fort.

Never come back
Very bad experience. The hotel is very far from the city and they don't have any kind of transportation!. After 2 hours of waiting they find a transportation service for us. They lied about the price and it was a very high regarding the area costs. After many hours of discussion they accept to pay it for us, but that was no the idea. The breakfast buffet is the worst I have had in all Indian hoteles. The rooms are not as luxuriest as it seems in the page, the bed next to the wall totally uncomfortable for a couple. Finally it was a hot season and the air conditioner was not in service for hotel areas. I would never recomend it.
