This motel needs to be bulldozed down and build new. It was built in the 50’s and is run down. The backup door locks are broken in rooms 117 and 119. We had to place all of our luggage against the door to help insure our safety. The A/C unit power cord has been cut off and another spliced in with electrical tape. The smoke detector in 119 was held to the ceiling by clear packaging tape (lots of tape). This place is a dump.

Better off in your car.
Where to start? The key didn't work or so we thought. The door wasn't even shut to the room to begin with. When you enter the room, there are two different sized beds. One of them is a king size bed, and one is a queen size bed on top of a full frame. Every time you sit on either side of the bed, then you almost roll off onto the floor. You have to sleep exactly in the middle of the bed to actually get rest. The lamps did not work. The bathroom was disgusting to include pubic hair on the faucet, dirty toilet, and rusty and filthy tub. There was no hot water. The towels were disgusting and I wouldn't have used them in my barn. One outlet only worked as the other one was clogged with paint. I spend a ton of time outdoors, and would have slept better in 32 degrees on the ground and bathed in a creek.

Bad experience. Room was dirty, used bar of soap in the bathtub 😟, mold around tub, found a few live bugs on our bed 😳, went to check out and there was no one to help me (in the middle of the day) no matter how long I waited and rang the bell, and so on. I do not recommend at all. There are other places to stay in the area that are better according to local folks.

CROOKS! I was traveling at night through Jacksboro TX and decided to book a room. I stopped at a gas station and opened the Expedia app. I found this was the only hotel available and was 1 mile from my location. There were many rooms available and I booked one. I went to the property, rang the doorbell and one person opened the door. I told him that I had the booking, he replied "no room, sold out". I explained that I just booked through expedia and he kept saying "no room". Then I asked him to cancel the booking, he called his partner (they spoke a foreign language among themselves) and checked the computer. Then he said "computer bad". I kept asking for the cancellation, he kept repeating "computer bad". Then I contacted Expedia in the chat and asked the agent to do the cancellation. I was so tired so I booked another hotel 30' away and started driving, could not stay with the agent. Next day I went to the chat again with Expedia, after a while the agent told me they don't want to refund me because I didn't show up. So I had to call OYO to get the refund. I called them, the agent kept me on hold while she called the property, they told her that I didn't show up and they tried to contact me to know if I was going to take the room. Such liars! I got upset with the agent and finally she told me my last option was calling the property myself, those people that barely speak english and already said I didn't show up. Lesson learned, stay at the property until the cancellation.

Skip this one!
This motel was not even close to the pictures they show online. The room was full of broken furniture. The bed linens were dirty and smelled like body odor. I can safely say this was the first motel I've ever stayed at that made me want to sleep in my clothes. There was no privacy lock on the inside of the door. It looked like someone had put screws into the door frame to try to barricade the door at of point. This was a last minute booking for an out of town funeral. The only thing this motel had going for it was that it was available. Next time we will drive into mineral wells.

Super comfy beds!
Besides the room smelling like weed, the room was clean and the beds were super comfy. Could use four pillows on each bed instead of three on one and four on the other. Hotel pillows are always flat. Overall, decent stay. Thanks!

We arrived after a 12 hour drive only to check in walk into the room and find a cockroach infestation and broken sticking fridge. We immediately packed up and found a new hotel after some words were exchanged with the manager!

I could not find it. On the maps it showed in a different area than where it actually was. Their sign was not lit up, so I never found it the first night and your site reservation had no information in the email. I could not find their information anywhere. This took about an hour to find another location.

The room was alright. The bed was actually pretty comfortable. A/C wall unit was a bit dated, so you had to adjust frequently, as well as the interior I could tell they are trying to fix the place up. They will get it there soon enough.

This are properties in very poor conditions inside and out and managed very poorly. The rooms were very dirty with cobwebs in the windows. The beds had bedbugs. The door had no deadbolts because they were broken. Did not feel safe. The place was dark and at night and had a hard time locating the place.

Don't let the outside of the property deceive you. The outside does look rundown. But the room was clean and looked to be newly remodeled. The bed was very comfortable. There are no real amenities but it served us well . We were camping at Ft Richardson State Park and stayed here for 1 night during a severe thunderstorm.

Comfortable bed, reasonable value
The place is fine. Most importantly, the bed was comfortable, which isn't always true at this price point. And it was clean. The laundry and ice facilities were lacking (the ice machine appeared to be dead, and I couldn't really tell if the laundry worked, but we didn't need it). But I have no real complaints; a pretty reasonable deal over all, meaning you get what you pay for! Had I wanted a better hotel, I would have needed to have picked a different place.
