I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It is closer to most of the tourist attractions and excellent restaurants. The hotel staff are amicable and supportive.

Rooms not as described on Hotels.com
Room was not as advertised. We paid for a Family Room, described on Hotels.com as on the top floor with 2 King beds and a Single bed. We arrived and were put in a street-level Triple Room (smaller, with 3 single beds). When we queried it, we were told to discuss with the manager the next morning. We spoke to the manager at breakfast, and he told us that there are no rooms with 2 King beds and 1 Single bed in the hotel, but eventually agreed to move us to another room on the top floor (away from the street-level noise) with 3 Single beds, which was slightly larger. No rebate offered. Rooms were generally clean, except for the tops of wardrobes, which were filthy. Don't put your towel up there to dry like I did!

Property needs renovation( wallpaper with dirty marks everywhere) , heating too low and no way to control it,heating does not work in washroom ( snow/freezing outside), washroom door lock does not work, no garbage basket in room, tea pot handle burns hand, property on Hill hard to walk if you are with children although location close to mosques, reception had a teenager kid with minimal language skills , could not report problems to him. Very bad experience.

It is not posssible to give DİIRTY ROOM TO ANY GUEST. tHE HOUSEKEEPİNGPERSONEL GO İN YOUR ROOMS EVERYDAY..I guess we had comminucation proble.We have excellent view from the terrace for Marmara Sea and Bosphorus.. Why do you think it is horrible. It is diffucult to understand.. It is realy interesthing What do you like to see more.

The location of the hotel is too much practical for visiting historical and shopping places. Cosy hotel and calm. The service was fast and on demand. Except one little remark, the bending bed should not be taking out from the room without prior notice. Regards

My brother and I reserved 2 rooms June 12 - June 27th. Due to personal circumstances we had to leave on the 22nd . We notified the owner/manager on the 18th (4 days prior) that we were leaving earlier and when we asked about the policy of early check out he said “ you will only for the nights you stay”. He even booked our Airport Transfer Taxi- after Contacting Expedia for refund the Hotel has denied our refund for the 5 nights for both rooms - saying that they were not notified that we we were leaving earlier . Dishonest to say the least! What was a decent experience turned to a disappointing end. I am definitely not going back to Sultanahmet Cesme Hotel and will make sure my friends ,family and beyond are aware of this. It’s not so much about the money they’re taking from usanymore ,it’s the fact that they’re lying about it.

Let me talk about the payment; Your reservation is Pre-Payment and Non-Refunable. You made your reservation via expedia and the payment to expedia. You get better price and discount for this type of reservation. Please, read the rules and cancellation policy and your reservation again. Then you will see; you did not paid more.. Let me think about it; For example, you made reservation and same day If I say you; today no rooms available and please leave my hotel.. What do think about then. Will you be happy to check out of the hotel with your family and kids.. I m sure you don't like If somethings happen like that. Great location
I had a good stay at the hotel, very convenient. It's a walking distance to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The manager and the attendants were very welcoming. Overall, a good experience.

Could have been better
Booked the hotel based on excellent previous reviews. We were given a much smaller room to stay in than the one we booked. Then the next day we were given the correct room. Honestly the stay was not so good, the hotel needs some renovation and they are doing some maintenance, and it is in a steep hill. The cleaning is not good. The breakfast is good though.

We finally didn’t stay at the Cesme Hotel because there was an issue with the water in the room. However the owner of the hotel IMMEDIATELY moved us to another hotel of the family and upgraded to a nice room. Our stay was fabulous and personnel in both hotels was very helpful and friendly. They assisted us with tours reservations and information of the city. Breakfast was ok with coffee and tea and other alternatives of cheese and ham, eggs and local cuisine. I recommend their hotels. Very well located.

The property was at a very convenient location. The whole hotel staff was very friendly and like a family. They took care of us in every means. They even cooked some good turkish foods for us as complimentary. I will always go and reside at this hotel.

Great service!
The owner was really friendly and was there to help us with anything. If you have a stroller to push, then location might be not the best. It is all way on the bottom of the hill.

Basic, clean and friendly
A basic but comfortable and very conveniently located hotel. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Good breakfast selection, and some great restaurants close by.

Friendly and cheap
This place was really good value for money and the hosts were very helpful. The beds were really comfortable and it is so close to the old centre of Sultanahmet with the most amazing sights. I would stay here again. The only disappointment was the rooftop which is being renovated.

Nice clean little hotel close to city centre and aminities...Manager and staff are very warm and helpful. Has a beatiful terrace view...Not very luxuruy but recomended as bargain choice...

Nice hotel overall, Very good service taking in consideration the little price. Clean & good breakfast, a little limited though. 5 min of a little hard walk to the tramway station (cuz it's ups & downs streets) & also close to the sea with nice view. Good a/c at the room. Clean comfortable room. But didn't clean bathroom during our 10 days stay.

Excellent value and location
Lovely little hotel. Very good value and excellent location less than 5 minutes walk to Hippodrome Square. Staff lovely. Rooms good size and fast free Wifi. Would definitely stay again on our next visit.

Good price for Sultanahmet Area hotel
Very good price by Expedia. It is at the bottom of the hill from Sultanahmet, so only for people who like to walk uphill. In the rooms you can hear too much from other rooms and street. Very close to Sultanahmet (just a few minutes walking).

My parents stayed in this hotel Its very comfortable and very good situated. Daily breakfast was always with a rich choise of dishes. All the must see places in Sultanahmet are nearby the hotel.

Good base for your sightseeing needs
We stayed in 2 different rooms on 2 separate nights. One was on the 4th floor and quite small. The other was on the 2nd floor and quite large and comfortable, although closer to the street and a little noisier. Kettle, tea and coffee in the rooms, as well as tea and a water cooler in the lobby. 24/7 staff at the front desk, even when we arrived from the airport at 2:30 am. They all seemed very friendly. Breakfast was delicious, and a lovely balcony to sit and hang out with a view of the water. A short walk to main Sultanahmet attractions.

Turkish Delight!
Very comfortable and clean room in an excellent part of historical Istanbul. Short but steep walk up to the Hippodrome and from there an easy walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and all the other historical sites. No elevator in the hotel so it's better for able bodied guests. Nice Mediterranean style breakfast in the morning and helpful staff.

Nice hotel, convenient location.
A short (uphill) walk to the major attractions of Sultanahmet. Rooms were clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Only complaint was noise from the street below, but this was mostly during the day.

Look no further - stay here!
I looked for a really long time to find a hotel in Istanbul, and to save you some time, just stay here! It's got it all - Great location close to everything. The breakfast was good with several different options. The value was outstanding for a nice clean room in the centre of it all. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. It was a safe area and we had a fabulous time.

Very close to Sultan Ahmed mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace and grand bazaar. Hotel is clean, room was decent size and has AC. Easy Airport shuttle for €5 per person. Picks up from the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent hotel. However rooms are bit small but good value for money. Location is ideal. Staff and hotel manager were exceedingly hospitable and cooperative. Gives good suggestion for shopping. Suggests good Istanbul tours.

I had a double room which was a good size and very comfortable and clean. The hotel is close to the Blue Mosque yet not in a busy area. The breakfast was very simple and only available for 90 min each morning. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Good price, good service, mostly very good hotel.
The hotel is in a good location, convenient short walk to Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. Front desk service is extremely friendly (Varol was very helpful), and hotel breakfast was quite good considering the hotel cost. Downsides are the air-conditioning is hit or miss (we stayed in 3 different rooms over 4 nights, sometimes the A/C on full blast didn't do anything to cool the room), and the "convenient" walks around the neighborhood are uphill in most directions, so your legs will burn. Also walls are very thin...that didn't bother us, but apparently our neighbors were bothered because they kept knocking on our wall.

Good economical stay near all the main sites
This is a good little hotel if you're traveling on a budget and/or want to be close to the main tourist sites in Sultanahmet. The hotel staff is very nice. Wifi worked well, and breakfast was small but sufficient. The breakfast room has a nice view, as does the rooftop terrace. There are plenty of restaurants in the area for dinner, and the blue mosque is maybe a 10 minute walk. I drove, which wasn't too much of a challenge though the roads are small and cobblestone in the neighborhood. Not sure where the free parking was, as I ended up paying about 30 TL to park right around the corner from the hotel for 2 nights (not really a big deal). My room was very small, so I wouldn't recommend it for a long stay. My only real complaint was the a/c was not working in my room so it was pretty uncomfortable. After the first night I asked the staff to have it looked at while I was gone - when I returned they said that is was blowing cold now, but there was no change. Maybe a language barrier... who knows. Other that that, it was a good stay and you can't beat it for the money.

Our time at Sultanahmet Cesme Hotel was amazing. The hotel is centrally located and very close to the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, Grand Bazaar, etc. This is a family run hotel and everyone is super nice and caring. Varol, the hotel manager, was great and helped us with directions, getting taxis, and arranging laundry. Him and his family made us feel right at home. There was turkish breakfast served every morning and although it was the same thing every morning, it was nothing short of amazing. The one thing I would say is that the hotel is located at the bottom of a hill, so if you don't like walking, or if you have knee issues, perhaps this is not the place for you. Otherwise, the hill really didn't bother us. Istanbul was super hilly in general, so we got used to climbing everywhere we went.
