The hotel is somptuous. The lobby, bar and main room are beautiful. But the main room was occupied by a special event. The location is perfect for the city night life of Istanbul. It is also very easy to get around and it is close by the Galata tower (12 minutes walk). My room, "city view", was clean and historically decorated but the view from the window was really disapointing. There is a building looking abandonned across the street. You dont expect this view from a palace. It was a bit disturbing. Across the street from my window also, slightly on the right, there is a bar on a deck "Duble". On weekend nights, it is very loud and the music didn't end before 2am. You could smell the cigarette smoking from there. Staff are very kind and helpful and when I complained about my sleepless night, they accomodated me with another room, which, unfortunately was on the same side of the building: same unpleasant view and same music evening/night. They nicely recommended me the "Golden Horn view" for my next visit. Big bonus if you need a PCR test to fly back. The hotel called a nurse. She comes and take a nose and mouth sample. You pay 350 liras and the results are sent to you on your WhatApp in the evening. Very convenient.
