It's a great location on a quiet street just a 2 minute walk away from lots of good restaurants and 5 minutes walk to the Blue Mosque square. They even have off street gated parking if you're silly enough to drive through the narrow streets of old Istanbul like us. The room was sparkling clean and the breakfast spread was quite impressive with lots of variety. The staff spoke great English and were very attentive. The customer service at Obahan was beyond what I have seen from other hotels. My biggest complaint is the noise. The rooms are right in front of the stairwell and elevator. In the morning, you can hear people coming out of there rooms and walking down the stairs. And the same at night. The shower didn't drain well, so there was pooling of water and I saw that there was mold on the bottom of the metal of the shower door. BUT .. they told that there was NO ROOM. (1st lie) but they would put me at their new property.. promised and upgrade.. "sea view" (2nd lie). walked to the other location, maybe 1/4 kilometer, no big deal. offered me to choose between 2 rooms... "sorry but we don't have sea view for you" (3rd lie).. offered garden room... i accepted.. but had to wait for cleaning... came back in 2 hours... "sorry we cannot give you that room... we offered it to another already" ..
