We had a very badly maintained room, not cleaned.Luckily we always carry wipes since Covid and we had to wipe everything before using our room.Issues are extremely slow to be dealt with and sometimes never.Had to chase them.Been to Istanbul numerous times as well as other countries but never like this.It can’t be a 4 Star hotel, I would give it. -2 to be generous.

I was dissapointed, the photos are nothing like the actual hotel ,rooms are small and dirty we stayed for a week and bedding was not changed once , amenities were poor and breakfast choices were limited. Staff did not speak even basic english or even checked to see how we were. Hospitality was so poor. Beds are shown as double however are two single joined. When telling staff bed was broken staff did not try to fix this, was very uncomfortable as there was 2 single beds.

Hotel room was very poor and not very clean bedsheets had marks on them. Windows did not open correctly only one hinge was working the bathroom shower head did not have a mount. Overall not a great hotel would not go back there again photos are not accurate at all

Room was very small, curtains were dirty, sink had no stopper and leaked. shower had nothing to hold it up and no tea/ coffee facilities in the room and when just a kettle was asked for, request was denied. and i had to purchase one.Fortunately I always bring my own tea and sweetner.

You get room that you didn't book!!
AVOID IT AT ALL COST!! I booked a standard room and when I arrived at the hotel, the receptionist gave me an economy room and gave my brother a room underground! When I complained he told me either take it or leave. Wow, that's the worst service I've ever got. Luckily, I've contacted Hotels.com customer service the following day and got my booking cancelled. Other customers also complained about the hotel and stuff. I don't recommend it to anyone even for free. I will attach some pictures of the room. Rooms not clean and in bad conditions.Very bad service and stuff.

Did not like this place!!! Staff is rude and unfriendly. The place is very dirty and that’s me putting it nicely!!!! Will never stay here again!!! It’s not what they show in the pic, so beware of that. Paid to stay there for 15 days but left after the first night, didn’t leave earlier because it was nighttime in a strange place. They never gave us a refund or anything! But that’s ok!!! I just wanted out!!!!!

Poor quality
The only advantage of the hotel is the location, walking distance from the bazaar and other main attractions. Staff was also OK but beside that nothing justifies the 4star ranking. Rooms are very small (a big suitcase can barely fit around the bed) and they looked significantly worse than the pictures - very used furniture and kind of dirty. The biggest disappointment was caused by the facilities that were listed on the booking but which we couldn't benefit from - WiFi and jacuzzi on the terrace. The WiFi was extremely bad which they explained with a so called network in the entire neighbourhood, however, other hotels or restaurants had perfect service...The jacuzzi was working only partially and when we complained that the water is not warming up they told us that this jacuzzi is not running on hot water but just "a little hot"...40 minutes later, they temperature had only rise up to 22 degrees Celsius... Breakfast was also a disappointment: only a few choices, most of them cold, orange juice made from instant powder, the tomatoes looked like they had been cut into slices days ago and other similar extremely low quality products....Nonetheless, we had to clean one of the tables for ourselves one morning because the staff didn't bother to take care of that. All in all, this was very far from what we expected from a 4 star hotel and I would recommend it, except for the location aspect. Had better experiences is lower ranked hotels.

Bathrooms has mildew in the shower. The staff told us they will clean it, it didn’t happen. Missing phone in one of the rooms was never installed back despite several requests. Small fridges leaked water on the floor of both rooms and when reported it was not acknowledged. We had to walk few streets to get to their shuttle service to the airport, in the middle of midday heat. Room size is very small. Bath towels worn out, etc...I will never be back.

it was pethatic one, the hotel was not 4 stars at all. it was our worst experience over there even Air Conditioner of the room was not working. it was dirty hotel and staff was unethical and non couteous with no training at all. when we complained them they gave lame excuses.we had paid in advance otherwise we would shift first day. after three days stay with pethatic experience, yesterday we did shift to actual four star hotel after an hectic tours of different hotels.The American Company like you, just broke our trust . we expect to get refund our money, on behalf of this big fraud namely Devan-i-Ali hotel.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in! The walls are not sound proof hence feels like you are sleeing in one big room with entire coridor also can hear every sound from outside. False information on the website and expedia description! I would not recommend anyone to stay here it is not nice or clean as Its very small and nosey as well as old and dirty.

More like a youth Hostel than a 4 star hotel
The hotel manager was very obnoxious, and the hotel rooms where very small. Like a box room. I dont know how this hotel got 4 star ratings but it is far from it. It is more like a youth hostel.

Worst Hotel I have ever stayed in. This is advertised as a 4 star hotel and it doesnt even deserve 1 star. First off the rooms are so small, and by that I mean its literally just a bed, like a maid room. secondly, The staff give you attitude and are rude, and hardly speak any English.

2 star not 4! Don't be fooled
The pictures were unfortunately all false, the stairs carpet was all torn, the ceiling height was extremely low, entering room I had a real shock, room had no blanket (!), nothing in minibar, the bed filled the whole room, like in a cheap cruiseship cabin, shower doors were broken, showerhead was propably original 90 years old, a lot of dirt and dust around all the corners and chairs. The location is quite central but that didn't help anything really. I didn't want to stay even one night because I booked a 4 star hotel, not 2 star. Ended up staying in the 2017 built Hilton Garden Umraniye that literally saved my holiday!

The hotel staff go over and beyond your requests keeping a positive attitude.. Even when you get a bit annoying or as a for a bit too much like myself. The location is decent, the rooms are comfortable.

The hotel was fine but not very comfortable. There were two of us and the room was so small that we could not keep our luggage in the room as there was no where to store it. There was barely any room to walk around the bed area. The location is convenient but our room was on the street side of the building and it was terribly busy and loud, making any relaxing with the window open impossible. Housekeeping did not seem to clean the floor (wood floors) very well. Dirt was tracked when we came out of the shower. No fan in the bathroom for ventilation. Hotel staff was pleasant and helpful but their English was very limited.

Nice Stay. I arrived late at night and got up after the breakfast finished. However, staff in kitchen was kind enough to prepare me a breakfast table; a gesture that shows that this hotel cares about their customers. Overall, perfect location, clean hotel, nice interior and attentive, kind staff. I wish the room was a bit bigger and a have a desk to put your laptop on but it did not affect much as I was in room only for sleeping. Wifi was very fast and worked fine too. Thanks.

Desirable Location
This hotel is excellent in many ways but the most important attribute it has is the location. Opposite the tram way for easy access/convenience and the Grand Bazaar (amazing shopping). This hotel is an great choice for visitors are on the go and active and went to get around. There are plenty of restaurants and other food outlets near by.

Great hotel in the heart of the old city
Ratings were overall positive but don't usually stay at small hotels like this - wasn't sure what to expect. This hotel had small differences which made a big difference for me - great water pressure, upgraded (if small) bathrooms, a/c that could chill a room in minutes, and an above average buffet breakfast. WiFi was strong and the staff here go out of their way to be helpful and kind. I blew my travel charger (don't ask) and they kindly offered me a usb adaptor to charge my phone - didn't even hesitate. They recommended a fantastic restaurant just down the road. Room as small (standard euro size small) and the street can be a bit loud - but these were minor things. Only downside - this isn't the easiest hotel to locate since it's in a very old part of the city. Follow their instructions and you'll be all right. Very convenient to tramway, but I found their location was easy walking distance to everywhere - a pleasant stroll of about 15 minutes gets you to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia.

Wonderful Stay in Istanbul Sultanahmet.
Great hotel on a quiet street in the heart of historical district. 5 min walk to Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. Literally across from Grand Bazaar. Very comfortable bed, good WiFi in the room. Nice breakfast.

Very nice clean hotel, very local to the main attractions which was very useful, and close to the tram station. The room was abit small for the amount i paid i did expect a bigger room, however saying that i didnt spend much time in the room so didnt effect me. Staff are friendly and happy to help. Breakfast is good. I would stay here again.

Nice hotel close to Sultan Ahmet and Grand Bazaar.
Our overall recent experience staying at Divani-Ali Hotel was really good. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel rooms were clean and facilities were great. Our only criticism will be how small the rooms were, so if your a person whom loves their space, you may feel claustrophobic at times. Other than that, this hotel is a lovely place to stay and I will recommend it to anyone who would like to visit Istanbul.

It was a pleasant stay. The hotel was near shopping area with a lot of eating places in surrounding area. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was some noises from near traders especially in the mornings. It was near to tram transport.

A bit noisy!
Only 2 complaints about this hotel is noise from the street at night and that no taxi driver in Istanbul seems to know where it is .... even when given the address. Polite helpful staff though and good value for money. Good location for the old city.

I recently went to Istanbul and booked with divani ali hotel after reading the positive reviews and I wasn't disappointed. The single room was smallish but enough space for one. the hotel is right opposite the grand bazaar and walking distances from most main attractions, and if u need help the hotel staff are more than happy to help and will even give you recommendations of where's good. I would definitely recommend the hotel and if I go back I won't hesitate to book with them.
