I did not personally love the layout of the rooms especially in terms of plugs, as these could be difficult to find (even behind someone's head on the bed headboard), however this is a very tiny thing and generally speaking everything went well and was easy. "Located right on the shore of the Solent RIver and close to the CBD of Ryde, this old castle was a perfect stay and it was a pleasure to watch all the boats and ships going in and out of the Port of Southampton, as well of the coming and goings of the hovercraft nearby. Room was not huge, but a reasonable size for the two of us and comfortable. Room was in good condition and the staff were friendly and prompt. Whilst there is parking on site, it is also available to patrons of the hotel so sometimes there can be limited parking. All guests must register their cars with reception. We had 3 heavy suitcases so it was great that they have a lift, but it only goes to the first level meaning if your room was on the second level you would need to carry them up the stairs. We would definitley stay again"
