"Very much enjoyed our 3 generations stay at Altabrug. Have visited family in South Uist for many years but never ventured down the Stoneybridge road. Bikes hired from Lochboisdale and delivered to the door helped us explore the area during some lovely weather. The cottage had large windows throughout which allowed us to enjoy the views and the wildlife. Our wee dog enjoyed the freedom around the cottage and loch."

"From the moment I was on this property I knew this is where I was meant to be. I was only there for one night, although when I return to South Uist I will certainly stay longer. The Breakfast was outstanding, the knowledge of the area from the owner and how helpful he was, was refreshing. This property and management is a 10 out of 10 for me. See you when I return :)"

"Really pleasant 3 night stay as part of a longer visit to the Uists. Single room with a view over the sea, albeit over the porch so also with a roof view! Breakfast was excellent and evening meals also - one of the best steaks I have ever had. Elaine was the perfect host throughout, happy to chat and provide recommendations for activities etc."

"Beautiful location. Polished wood staircase dangerous and does not meet HSE. Terrible Mould in bathroom - does not meet HSE. Cobwebs in upper bedroom with skirting boards not cleaned. Kitchen surfaces only cleaned where 'bare'- underneath appliances, filthy. Bedding underproduction filthy and stained. Bedding sheets old and threadbare with bobbling. Electrical connection appear not to have been PAT Tested - multiple appliances plugged to extension leads. Outside area steps very dangerous - do not meet HSE at all. Parking for larger 4WD vehicle meaning car door restricted opening onto grass bank. Serious attention needed to meet Safety Standards. As the friend of David, I had a serious fall from the staircase which resulted in being airlifted to Stornoway Hospital and immediate Surgery. Were it not for the excellent service of the Barra Ambulance service I could have easily bled to death. Photographs available on subjects mentioned. "
