Getting Around:
Guests will need to make sure they have their own vehicle. Summer months are fine with a small car but four wheel drive is a must in the winter!
Other Things to Note:
What to bring with you!- You're coming to a wilderness area to vacation and if you plan your vacation well you will have a positive experience. In the summertime May and through the middle of June can tend to be cooler early morning and toward the evening hours. Make sure to bring a jacket and long pants you can change into when needed. Bring a pair of tie up shoes to protect your feet. Shoes likes flip flops or sandals will not protect your feet when you are out exploring. Layering your clothing is a good idea and then if your too warm you can take off clothing as needed. At least this way when departing your cabin early morning to go site seeing you will have what you need with you. July and August are pretty warm and you should still bring a light jacket. The rest of the year you will want to bring heavier jackets and long underwear, snow suits etc. You will need to bring your private toiletries like bar soap and shampoo as we do not provide this for you. Cabins are equipped with everything else you should need except food of course. Snow tires and four-wheel-drive are recommended for traveling in Eastern Idaho during the winter. Road conditions can change quickly, and even well-traveled highways are occasionally closed by blizzards or high winds. Before setting out, check the Transportation Department's website or call 511 for an automated, up-to-the-minute status of all thoroughfares. Wise motorists will also carry emergency gear (shovel, snack bars, water, blankets) in their vehicles to be ready for any contingency. Coming Snowmobiling? A reminder to anyone traveling back country areas whether skiing, snowmobiling or hiking: Remember the time of year, exercising all back country cautions. Take necessary equipment and survival gear when venturing into the back country. If you have a GPS and cell phone, be sure to take them with you, but do not rely on them entirely for a safe rescue if you find yourself in trouble or stranded. Cell phones should be kept close to your body & turned off to keep the battery full, so it's not searching for a signal & running the battery down. Avalanche Transceivers and equipment, knowing what the avalanche conditions are, and knowing skills to save lives are a must for everyone entering back country riding or traveling. Plan ahead. Make sure you know the area you are going into before heading into it. If you find yourself in trouble, stop, take a look around you, and do not go any further. The further you go the more complicated and dangerous it is to get yourself to safety, also making rescue efforts more difficult and dangerous. Make mental notes in relation to any physical features or landmarks that would assist in your rescue. Make a plan, stick to your plan, narrow the riding area, & most of all...let someone know WHERE you are planning to go!

We had a wonderful time visiting Idaho, Yellowstone, Tetons! This house was perfect for us! Great location, great views, quiet area. Had all the amenities we needed! Will stay here again!
Perfect home for a Grand Teton/Yellowstone adventure
My friend and I absolutely loved our stay here! Was about a 35 minute drive to Yellowstone and it was so peaceful. Perfect size for 2 but we could’ve easily had a few more guests.
We found this cabin to be ideally located near Yellowstone, only about a 30 minute drive. There were convenient restaurants, groceries and gas nearby. This suited our needs perfectly. Loved the rustic touches of the house and was conveniently located away from neighbors.
Ray check in and check out process. Clean property with nice neighbor.
Checked in on Friday, asked about an early check in to allow time to heat up dinner, it was quickly granted for a 2:00 pm check in.
Clean and nice property with some yard space. Would do it again!
Our family of 5 came to stay and loved every minute at this cabin. The description was accurate and we had so much fun. We used this cabin as a base camp for day trips and did a lot of our own cooking. They had everything we needed including a crock pot and coffee maker. We were so pleased. I was also thankful for the great communication and effortless check in and check out procedures. Thank you so much for a great week.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope we can come again sometime. This home is beautifully decorated, love the attention to detail, plenty of space and all the amenities we needed.
Highly recommend this place to anyone. Super comfortable safe place for the family. We stayed here while we went to Yellowstone NP. Loved waking up to that awesome view.
Super cute cabin! It’s pretty small, but cozy, clean and well maintained. Love that there’s open fields around and nice views. We even got to see a moose right off the back porch our first morning there!

My family, my dog and I (6 adults) absolutely loved this place! The area is gorgeous and quiet, the cabin is very charming and so cozy, we loved how everything was labeled! There are many cleaned blankets and towels for everyone. We enjoyed the time we had together as a family. Great place!
My family (6 total) stayed comfortably for 4 days.
There are homes/ cabins around you, but you have plenty of space between you and them.
We were in a minivan during summer so we had no issues with the road. But could see were winter might cause a problem for cars and minivans.
It’s about 35 minus from the entrance to the West Yellowstone entrance, and about 2hrs from the Tetons.
There is a nice grocery store about 15 minutes away.
I would definitely stay here again.
We loved the property, there was plenty of room for everyone. I was NOT happy when a call placed to management during business hours was not returned for over 24 hours. As a group we were angered by having to wash our towels and sheets! At $250/night and having to pay $199 extra as a "cleaning fee" I personally find that to be outrageous!!
This is a great affordable cabin in close proximity to Yellowstone. Please ask about the drinking water before your stay. Thankfully, we were able to use the well water during our stay but there have been issues in the area. Other than this, this is a great cabin and area.

Elk Meadows is a cute clean cabin. Communication with the host was great! The cabin has everything that is needed for a short trip. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes and utensils. There’s a full size stove and refrigerator.
The bathrooms are also fully stocked, with towels, toilet paper and dish soap. I always bring my favorite shampoo and soap, so I didn’t pay attention of those were stocked.
Trash is easy ti take out.
The property is 30-40 minutes from West Yellowstone. The good thing about that is that the night sky is unbelievable, you can even see star dust!! Haven’t seen a sky like that in years!!
This was our family’s second stay in Island Park in this particular area. The check in process was easy. The only hiccup we had was the email with the check in information arrived while we were in several areas with minimal cell service, but we did get it figured out 😊. This location is perfect as our family was exploring Yellowstone and the town of West Yellowstone. It was nice to be away from the crowds at the end of the day. Even without air conditioning, the ceiling fans and the cool nights helped keep the house comfortable. We will definitely be back in the future 😊
Enjoyed the cabin with good space for 4 teenage boys and my wife and I. We enjoyed driving into Yellowstone and seeing the sites. Kayaking down the river near macs lodge was a treat. Easy to find.
