From there it's just a 7-minute drive north to Inca, one of the island's lively main towns. Traditional cellar taverns such as the Celler Can Amer in Carrer de la Pau offer a taste of the region's specialities and you can often pick up a bargain in the numerous leather workshops. Or look over the shoemakers' shoulders in nearby Lloseta and then treat yourself to a pair of Bestard Mountain Boots for a hike in the Serra de Tramuntana mountains. Travelling through a region full of windmills towards Sineu and Costitx, you'll find more traditional attractions such as the popular weekly market (with a medieval backdrop), the only observatory in Mallorca and plenty of culinary surprises. And, of course, good wine matured under the Spanish sun ...
