However, it's worth noting that this hotel is all about the glorious communal areas. The room (we went for one with a private sauna) was small, and pretty basic - with not even a bedside table on one side of the bed. No tissues in the room, and only a combined shower get/shampoo in the bathroom, if that sort of thing bothers you. These rooms also have a sauna building in front of them, so their view of the river is obscured. We were on a half board package. The food was superb - although it's worth noting the evening meal included is absolutely fixed. The bar has a good selection of drinks. All the staff were absolutely excellent. All personable and happy to chat. We were able to check in about 30 minutes before 9pm so we were able to just go straight into our lodging and start relaxing and enjoying the views. In the morning, we were able to see that there was an reindeer farm next to us and were able to take photos of them. Their buffet breakfast was delicious. Although they did not have an overwhelming selection, but what they put out was absolutely divine and delicious. Mid winter, -20C outside, we could step onto the verandah for views and photos of the Aurora when it came by, and jump back inside to warm up. Great sauna, warmed us up after a day out in the snow. Overall, we were so happy with this accommodation. Weeks later we still say it was the best part of our trip.
